I have three cameras which have SD card slots. Not one of them is interchangeable with any of the others. I have an old camera which I want to give away, but I wanted to see what is on its SD card and I have no way of doing so. Infuriating.

I also have about 4 phones with different charging sockets.

You can buy an SD adaptor to plug-in to your computer (if it doesn't already have an SD slot).

If you have an android phone you an also plug phone cards into that, where they pop up under 'settings' as external storage and can be viewed as normal. Adaptor cable needed.

Are you sure that these camera's all have SDcards? All memory cards are not SD Cards.

My Canon camera takes SD cards but my little Sony camera takes Sony's propriety Memory Stick PRO.
For £2 I bought an adapter that lets me use SD cards in the Sony.

If you confirm just what cards you have, you will be able to find a way of reading them.

Most camera's can be connected to a PC and the data on the cards read to the PC.

Here is a pic of the adapter with a micro SD Card:

You probably got a cable supplied with the camera - is it in the box?

Thanks but it's more hassle than it's worth to get an adaptor to add to the mountain of e-junk that we have at home, but thanks anyway for the suggestions. In fact when I look at that link from Amazon I think we may even have an animal like that lurking in the depths of the garage.

Ian is right - it's a Memory Stick Pro

Only one of our 4 computers has the right sort of slot, but it won't read the sodding card.

I have got an old camera like this, along with a lot of stuff from my parents' house, and a Rolleiflex, and a beautiful Bell and Howell cine camera. I might get it restored and start using it.

My father used to terrorise us with the cine camera, whenever we went on holiday, and then weeks later when the developed film came back and we had to watch it. How life has changed!

Cape,
You must decide what you want to achieve.
Do you want to use all of these camera's?
If so, I suggest that you get adapters and standardise on SDCards.

If you just want to retrieve the images from the different cards, a cable to you PC USB port is probably the best bet.

My little Sony camera I bought on impulse at an auction. It wasn't sold as in working order, but I got it cheap enough to risk it.
It only needed the battery charging! :YMAPPLAUSE:
The £2 adapter has made it compatible with the rest of my kit.

The wonderfully "competent" United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (currently in "special measures" for poor performance) has decided to "temporarily" reduce the status of our local A&E to an 'urgent treatment centre' i.e sticking plasters only. This, after years of "the temporary" night time closure of the facility. If you have a heart attack/stroke/car crash in this part of Lincolnshire you'll go to the nearest A&E, at least 25 miles away, which is one of the poorest performing A&Es in the UK. Very comforting.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

Have you tried putting them on Imgur.com (like photobucket but free ) and then you should be able to post them onto O-N.

In UK about 3 in 100 are of African origin and 2 in 100 are Indian origin. On that basis we should see no more than 5 coloured a day on TV per hundred.

If we take Naga out of the number that means 4. But we have blacks on nature programs, farming programmes, money programmes, antiques programmes, soap operas, etc etc. In other words over represented.

Regarding blacks in the country, how many times do you ever see blacks in the country, in Stately homes, in formal gardens, and so on?

In other words over represented both in numbers and on locations.

They also have another thing in common; they all sound British. When we see real BAME in the street or as members of the public they rarely sound like white ethnics.

Are we being subjected to a propaganda assault to persuade us that Blacks are just like us?
