Just received the annual renewal for the council's green bin scheme. The snivelling gits have jacked the price up yet again. The original annual fee was £20, it's nearly double that now. Buggrit, I ain't renewing and my garden waste (what small amount it is) can go in the black bin instead.

Not a rant, more of an eyeball roller. I went into Holland and Barrett this morning to buy Tumeric, which I have persuaded myself wards off Alzheimer's. Not seeing it on the two-for-one display, I asked. No, no two for one currently. So took one bottle to the counter where guy scanned it and said "Oh, they are half price at the moment, would you like a second bottle ?"

Our green( brown ) bin used to be free. They composted the stuff and then sold it back to us ( not likely ) Was covered by council tax. They they started charging £40.My green stuff goes in with the food stuff which is buried in the ground and composted.

Naughty boy 😀

Would you believe my bin was only half emptied yesterday. Polystyrene packaging remained in the bottom. At least one blue bag of non-recyle went and one white bag. The buttercups in the white bag should look good at the dump 😀

Mrs PN swears by it. Instead of buying a 39g jar of turmeric I got a kilo of the stuff from Big A.

Go to Turmeric Users an Australian vet's site. Mrs PN s recipe is turmeric, fresh ground black pepper, olive oil and water. Tastes like sh1t but she swears by it.

OFSO, well 50% off and two for one are completely different from many perspective. Most people prefer 50% off I prefer 2-for-1 which allows me to have stock.

Our council stopped 'brown bin' (garden waste) collections - then restarted them when they realised that folk were simply filling their general waste bins instead.

Although my main entertainment is Ops-Normal, when there are no new posts, I riffle through the online pages of the MSM - such as the Sun, Mirror, Metro and Express (titles which don't demand that I close my adblocker or agree to invasive cookies).
There is a predominance of celebrity stories in some with clickbait titles which expect you to wade through several paragraphs of historical background before revealing the disappointing 'fact', or a story that turns out to be part of a soap story - not to mention videos that autorun followed by a totally irrelevant followons - even the Beeb practices some of these tricks.
What I want is to select a topic from headlines and read that and that alone not be pressganged into an unrelated (and usually irrelevant) topic.

A cry of "Now you know how it feels, you ******". A cry from my asthmatic wife in response to some patient interviewed on TV today regarding his difficulty in drawing breath consequent on contracting CV.

We pay £25pa for a garden waste collection. It's only used for woody waste, as we have two compost bins in the garden. The local clowncil take it away every fortnight, shred and compost it, and sell it as soil improver.

Bought a pair of convertible pants / shants (zip-off lower legs).
Brought them home and left them on a chair in living room and went back out on another errand.
Returned to find them on the floor, chewed by dog! ~X(
Only saving grace: she chewed through the lower leg, below the leg zipper, so they at least usable as shorts. #:-S :O3

Bone Question of the Week Award must go the the female journalist who asked Matt Hancock how much PPE was going to be used during the course of the pandemic.

As much as my opinion of politicians puts them lower than a snake's belly, I have to say he was remarkably restrained and diplomatic in his answer. I would have told the dozy bint "Lots" and moved on to the next journalist.

Of all the bone questions asked recently at the Press briefings, that one takes the biscuit.

Thanks to late winter / early spring rains here, my desert landscaping (rocks and cactus, and low water use plants vs. grass) is now covered in weeds and invasive grasses. Certainly too many to pull. ~X(
My solution is to treat them as virus carriers and "social distance" from them. :-bd :)) =))
