Mr Javid added that there were a range of measures available to "stop people who pose a serious threat from returning to the UK, including depriving them of their British citizenship or excluding them from the country."

BBC home affairs correspondent Dominic Casciani said security chiefs in London could also control Ms Begum's possible return through a Temporary Exclusion Order. The controversial legal tool bars a British citizen from returning home until they have agreed to investigation, monitoring and, if required, deradicalisation. However Lord Carlile, a former independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said Ms Begum would have to be accepted back into the UK if she had not become a national of any other country.

Under international law, it is not possible to render a person stateless.

According to Wiki (so some scope for accuracy or lack thereof) she was born to Bangladeshi parents.

According to this site if a child has at least one Bangladeshi parent, they automatically acquire Bangladeshi citizenship at birth.

If that is correct, is the way is open for HMG to remove her British citizenship without breaking international law?

That's where the MiL had asked to be planted after she died. Couldn't get away fast enough afterwards. I avoid any part of London like the plague. IMO the place is a dump. There are other cities that are for more be-fitting as our capital city - York is one - but we are stuck with the "great" Metropolis and that's the way it will stay.

p.s. The centre of the universe is the great city at 55ºN and would be a fine capital except for the fact that there's a nearby blot on the landscape called Sund'land. ;)))

Central London is pretty decent. By and large, if I'm within a mile of Covent Garden I can find somewhere decent to eat/drink/sleep/visit or perve.

An English parliament should be established in Walsall to help revitalise the local economy that was destroyed by Thatcherism

People who pronounce 'grievous' as 'grevious'. Just heard it twice on the news.

Like Afrikaans speakers who stick in an 'h', so that 'situation' becomes 'situ-h-ation' and 'hyaena' become 'ha-heena', and a friend who drives a 'Ti-h-ota'.

Walsall was a desperate place when I was stationed at Stafford...and that was in the sixties. It was almost as bad as Stoke!!

Same problem here. "Where's the sharp knife?"
"I washed it and put it away."
"(dear)"
"BUT COULDN'T YOU SEE I WAS USING IT" Actually she'd been in the conservatory for the last half hour on the phone.
I am also (I'm told) much cleverer at loading the dishwasher than she is. That is why I have the privilege of being dishwasher-king. Goody.

Wilma is barred from the kitchen while I'm cooking. She has a habit of closing the lid on the bins while I'm opening packets, chopping and peeling. The reason I leave the lids up (unlike the toilet) is so I don't have to keep opening them every time I've peel or paper or something to throw away. Nothing gives me the irrits more than to turn around with a handful of crap and find the bin closed.

I wouldn't mind but she hates cooking. Just stay out of my way, eat the results and wash up afterward.

Oh dear, kitchen woes.
She - many times "I'm sick of cooking, just defrost something."
Me - "I don't mind cooking, I'll cook on week nights. What do you prefer?"
She - "I like anything I don't have to cook."
Me - Cooks lamb roast, fresh vegies.
She - "I've gone off red meat, can we stick to fish, chicken, pork?"
Me - "OK" Cooks nice fish with fresh salad.
She - "Actually, I prefer either salmon or frozen fish & chips"
Me - Cooks salmon.
She - "How long are you cooking it for?"
Me - "Just a few minutes - that's all it needs"
She - "No, you have to do it longer than that."
Me - "Do yo want me to cook it, or do you want to cook it?"
She - "No, you can cook it, I'm just..."
Me - "Out of my kitchen!"

Mrs. ExS doesn't "do" breakfast beyond a cup of drip filtered coffee that is so undrinkably strong that I usually keep her soggy, once used, filter until mid-morning when I pour another mug of water through it to produce something that I can live with, so I am very proficient at pouring myself a bowl of cornflakes, covering them with low fat milk whilst two small slice of wholemeal bread toast, after which I spread them with what I would once have called Margarine ( not against butter, but it doesn't spread straight from the 'fridge like "Low Fat Dairy Spread") and lashings of Roses English Breakfast Marmalade ( no, I don't add sugar to my diet ) washed down with a cup of black ( no milk ) Typhoo tea ( bag ). Cooking ? s'easy.

When I first started cooking (back when I was a bachelor) it took me a while to find out how long to boil eggs for until they were tender.

I don't allow anyone in my kitchen when I'm cooking, least of all the wife. She hides stuff that I need and am still using in the black hole called the dishwasher. Drives me demented. She also talks to my back when I'm doing something noisy and I have no idea what she's saying, then she'll say : "but I told you....."

Mrs 1DC and i never have breakfast together because she gets up much earlier than me.That is the only meal she cooks. I don't really have your trouble because she just asks what she is getting for lunch or dinner. I do have interference if she comes into the kitchen, she has the putting away fetish and moves anything that is still without considering wether it is being used..

This must be a common female trait SM does it too. Plus, same as, she only cooks things she perceives I can't like gravy.
