Same here, very neat white UPS about the size of a slim paperback. Provides 12v power to the router and has a USB 5v output too.

I do need a UPS for a WiFi socket. My burglar alarm uses a LAN connection but I can't run a cable to the router. I use the WiFi booster. Trouble is it is a 240v booster and ideally a 12v would be better.

The suppliers of my solar and battery storage recommended that I change to Octopus when it is convenient. They think that they are presently the best on the market.
Neighbours wife had an MRI on Monday night and had the results by Tuesday lunchtime, not bad for the NHS.
Nice sunny day on the Humber so we are off to buy a load of pansies for the garden.
Mrs 1DC's car went in for a service yesterday, it is a Mercedes GLC. WE were offered a good deal on a new one, however, she likes light upholstery and a few upgrades such as head up display and glass roof. It seems that if you want light upholstery you have to have a GLC sport but you can't have any upgrades. If you want upgrades you have to have a GLC AMG but you can't have light upholstery. How stupid is that. She is keeping her own.

When I was buying a Jaguar XFS Portfolio in 2013 I encountered the same problem, it seemed the more I wanted to pay the more restrictive my options became, so I sent an email to Dr. Ralf Speight bemoaning this. Within an hour his PA called me, two hours later the CEO of JLR Deutschland called and said he saw my point, at 1100 next morning the salesman in Mayfair called and said "What have you done?", he explained that emails were flying around from Dr Speight saying give this man what he wants, other people saying who's going to pay for it, and him saying I don't care, just do it!

I got exactly what I wanted, excellent price as well through Diplomatic Sales.

I have now found a suitable 5v WiFi extender, now to track down that UPS again.

This seems to be a particular problem with German cars.

A local problem is that the higher you spec your car, the bigger the wheels get, and the skinnier the tyres.
Most unsuitable for our potholed roads. We need small wheels and fat tyres.

Always better to talk to the organ grinder than the monkey.

Phone call from local MP's office, email from Premier saying she's referred it to Minister for Energy. I shall remind him if he forgets things.

Ian, large wheels, small tyres, macho.

We have exactly the dancer here, rough roads.

Years ago when stainless steel exhausts were new unspecified SS for my new SAAB. Good move as it happens as it was old stock. Anyway the salesman gybed and said no. I walked away, he said they would be stuck with the old (new) exhaust. Then it occurred to them they could use it as a replacement to some one else though they would have to hold it in stock.

Found it, Mini DC USB GM322 direct from China no longer on Amazon. Total cost will be £55 for Wi-Fi and USB.

As BA were crying crocodile tears for the 747, they were sending emails to some staff that have been furloughed from April asking them to return to their place of work on the 11th October, less than 12 hours later another email saying please ignore previous communication X(
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Solution is simple, get your neighbour to do theirs first and say I told you so🤓

Nightmare traffic yesterday as people converged on a local school for their flu vaccine. Problem was that the school caretaker had forgotten to open the gates. 2@.

Reminds me of my primary school.
School was at the foot of a steep grassy bank which was the sledging bank in winter.

The snow had been around for a couple of weeks and had frozen so the sledge runs ran well into the school yard.
Caretaker came out and closed the (metal) gates.
Sledger set off from top of the bank (long way away) and crashed into gates with serious injuries.

A further education college had expressed an interest in restoring an old narrowboat that is laid up in our depot's yard. They asked if they could come down to do a survey to assess the task. Date and time agreed and volunteers rounded up to clear kit out of the boat's hold - we cover the boat with our marquee's roof in order to keep the boat dry. Come the time, all kit plus the roof removed but no show by the college. An hour later, our man rings the college and asks when we can expect them. College replies "We have decided not to proceed with the project so we won't be coming". Our man asks why they didn't let us know previously and got the unforgiveable reply of "Forgot to tell you". Bastids!

I was browsing Google Earth and went to street view in Athens. No change, if it doesn't move, paint it. Probably if it does move also paint it.

Why don't the authorities put a 500% sales tax on aerosol cans?
