Trying over and over to get SNCF website to accept any or all debit cards to book return in January. Fails every time. And then you have to start again from beginning of booking, not just "try another card". Effing French.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Just been to our local Tesco superstore must have been at least 500 people in there and we counted 8 people wearing poppies, two of them were us. The Legion, with the help of the local branch of the RAF juniors, were manning a stall but weren't doing much business.
As we sink into our new woke society have we already forgotten for **** sake, absolute bloody disgrace.

+1
Here, a few miles away, the old lady that sat in the doorway of one of the supermarkets selling poppies has passed but the local English shop has taken over, nearly all the English are wearing them. It is a predominantly retired community however.

I think a major problem is the much greater use of cashless payments and the lack of change being carried by people. With a pocket full of change it was always possible to find a couple of pounds for the collection bucket but now it is getting rare to have any coins in one's pocket. Charity collections of all varieties will suffer.

Mrs C16 was buying poppies for us at the local garden centre on Friday. She took one of her friends to task when the latter said that she must get her poppy brooch out of the drawer. When asked if she was going to make a donation she said why?- I've got my brooch!

Both of us installed the NHS App today. Different verification procedure for each of us. Unfathomable. (Not the wife's finger trouble, I did both installations, identical Xiaomi phones.)

Yes, but the unloading cycle is a bit unreliable (delegated to resident son).Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 11:55 amDoes anyone else have a self loading and emptying dishwasher?

My friend bought a dishwasher. He and his wife were quite upset to find that they had to buy more crockery & cutlery because their extant crockery/cutlery only provided a part-load for the machinellondel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 4:19 pmYes, but the unloading cycle is a bit unreliable (delegated to resident son).Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 11:55 amDoes anyone else have a self loading and emptying dishwasher?

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
My router failed and was replaced on Friday. New one works fine except my smart home links stopped working. After trying various fixed, including digging out the instructions, I eventually went onto the website.
There were lots of complaints all dated 5th November with the same problem! Gnashing of teeth.

Spent all afternoon (both) trying to register on the NHS app. Photographing our passports, selves, reciting The Numbers, 'information doesn't match with our records'. Borrocks.

OFSO, been there, done that, then Mrs PN just logged in, not standing on one leg reciting the Omar Kyam.
