Woolies tomato ketchup IMO is nicer than All Gold which is perfectly acceptable. :) Woolies BBQ baked beans or Spar baked beans have the edge on Koo IMO. :) But at the end of the day there is no substitute for Branston Pickle which we have never found here or in Greece. :(( :((
Mrs Balls goes better with a curry, but not as good with cheese in a sandwich.

I have just filled out my bank's application for on-line banking (the accounts been there since 1993). Having entered my account number the site tells me I have to open an account there to use on line banking. The site also asks me my passport number I quoted to them in 1993 (!) and then tells me I entered the wrong ID number (not changed since 1993). I was then asked to compete a satisfaction survey....

And how many surveys present only questions that provide the answers they want?
Had a post office survey once. Five possible answers. Something like, completely satisfied, quite satisfied, satisfied.... for the first three. As both satisfied and quite are yes/no answers like unique, they could quietly pat themselves on the back.

The post office concerned had magical properties. Two thirds of the office was given over to merchandise and formed a natural in/out system. At the far end was THE BARRIER a forbidding counter and wall the ceiling armour reaching up over 10 feet. Behind this were 2 or sometimes 3 harridans. The magic properties?

From time to time a new woman, no men ever in 30 years, would arrive, all smiles, helpful and jolly. In short order they would leave or become miserable jobs worth like the others.

And before you say it, it wasn't just me that noticed this.

In contrast, a sub post office at 4ma's part of town cannot be more helpful.

I am quite partial to Mrs Balls. :) At the moment lurking at the back of the fridge is a jar of Spar's very tasty mild fruit chutney. Also after almost 2 years I managed to buy a large jar of Woolies onion marmalade which goes very well with cheddar cheese. :D

Having switched over this morning from BBC Breakfast to avoid Hancock's interview, on ITV they had a bit about St Paul's School for Girls in Hammersmith. Apparently they are going to do away with the binary name of Girl in Head Girl - no idea what replacement name they propose. However they are not going to remove the word Girls from the school's name. Double standards methinks.

Girl and Head. Always open to interpretation.

I understand it is quite normal in mixed schools

A very sexually lax environment here in the UK! None of that head giving stuff at my all boys school back in the austere 70's in South Africa, I can tell you. =))

I still have my Head Boy's badge from my days at Primary School, but I wouldn't wear it now! :))

TGG, I was only quoting from the Telegraph, apparently new girls had to service the 1st 15 on the Touch line, very appropriate.

My electric toothbrush failed last night. Not a battery failure but one of sensitivity. Would you believe the bloody toothbrush has a factory reset mode.

Now waiting 24 hours to do the procedure. Fortunately it has 5 months before its programmed self destruction date.

I still have my school prefect badge somewhere. Never had aspirations to be head boy, seemed like a lot of extra work, turning up to school events I always avoided, being smartly dressed and having to talk to parents.

Received replacement salt cell yesterday afternoon. A surprising 4 days before tracking said it would arrive :-o . I suppose they allowed for a little slop as it was coming from OZ.
I followed it on DHL tracker site and it arrived at LAX Sat., PHX yesterday morning and here yesterday afternoon.

Only problem, as this is aftermarket and not OEM, the cord is less than half the length of the original and must be routed straight across the equipment enclosure. ~X(
I'm not about to cut the cord to splice in a longer length as I'm sure it would void the 5 year warranty. [-X

I only ever got oranges on the touchline and a cold shower afterwards :)
