Isn't a bit similar now? There are no charges but we have more message to send in less time.
That’s sorta true RiS. For instance I might send a little Whatsapp message to Apsara just to let her know I’m thinking of her at that moment, such as )====D

And she does something similar like ( , )

There are others but a bit too raunchy to post here. :ymblushing:

Saves time. A picture really does tell a thousand words.

I was looking yesterday at cellphone contracts. One of mine offers 500 texts a month, that's about 16 a day, I normally use about 50 of the 500, but I can understand that some people would need 500, but one of the contracts I looked at offers 5000/month, or 160 a day! How on earth is that possible, and there was even one that offered 'unlimited'?

I’ve got unlimited texts on my phone contract, over 1000 minutes of calls and 5Gb of data, which rolls over if not used up, all for just £10 a month, sim only.

Green from envy about your contract Woody.

When I finished my Tesco contract I switched to an O2 sim only. I get unlimited everything for £10 a month.

Sim only plan with EE, unlimited calls and texts plus 2Gb data - that amount of data is plenty for me - and it's £9.19 per month.

Been going to the Grande Bistro de la Muette in Paris for years. Posh restaurant but very reasonable price, food excellent. Always full, always have to book. Usually get talking to other diners, have stayed in touch with some for years.

Turned up today, it's gone. Now a vulgar pizzeria, for Gods sake. End of the world could not be worse...

I had a favourite little traditional Brasserie in a side street near our company office in Paris. Lovely food, pleasant staff, at least I never saw them spitting in my food.
A couple of years ago, travelling by train via Paris, I purposely arranged a break of journey long enough to have a leisurely lunch there.
I got there to find it turned into something far worse than a vulgar Pizzeria. A MuckDonalds, and to make it even worse, there was a long queue outside of people waiting to pay for their MuckDonald's filthy meals. In fairness, they weren't all French, a lot seemed to be USAmericans.

Cape, a few years ago I took my course to Bordeaux. We were literally the wrong side of the tracks. We set off for food and affect an age most went into a Big M. Two of us rounded the corner, had a menu thrust on us. A small hole in the wall restaurant. Absolutely packed. Round the next corner, wall to wall restaurants all round the square, not a burger in sight.😁

Why does our PM have to wear his tie down to his knees. Convention is that the tip when standing up should be right in the middle of your belt buckle. With different ties I have to tie mine at least three times to get it right. And, has he never heard of the Windsor knot. He ties it like a shoe lace. Perhaps his bird should spend more time dressing him than bonking him. He is still a complete scruff bag. Can you ever imagine David Cameron, for example, being dressed like that.

I thought we discussed this before. It serves several purposes. It covers the fly, just in case. It covers other embarrasses such as stains or things associated with stains.

Cameron may have dressed somewhat better but he was still a tw*t!

That reminds me of something I’ve always questioned and want to rant about: what’s with this partial censorship nonsense anyway?

Take for example the last word of the above post. By writing “tw*t” it immediately conveys to the mind of the reader the word “twat” so what’s the point?

Same with saying “the N word”. What’s so polite about that when everyone knows it means “nigger”? Just say it and be done with it FFS. Could you imagine Wingco Gibson yelling “heel N word!” or Tom asking “pass me that oar N word Jim!” PC **** is what it is.

I just see it all as nonsensical fcuking rubbish (see? what’s the point of me typing “f*****g” when you’d all get it anyway). If one doesn't want to appear rude and crude (such as responding to our esteemed ladies’s posts) than swap idiot for twat, frigging for fcuking, moron for ****, black man for nigger, muck for sh!t and “very bad fellow” for complete bastard.

Abbreviations such as “TOP” is fair enough. Saves typing “PPruNe” and trying to remember which letters are capitals, and to prevent anything should Wanking Wobbie want to throw a legal fit.

Same with the convenience of typing “FFS” iso typing it out in full.

Don't know what you are blethering on about now Slash. I think the 'shine is starting to get to you. These are the only words I set up when I initiated the site back in 2015.

Seemed a pretty logical thing to do on day one. As you mention it, just might add Slasher to the list. ;)))

Except for my post’s last 2 (positive) site-related paragraphs I’m not ranting about your site in particular Admin but in general.

But since you raised it I see no logic in the table above. If you don’t want anyone to type fuc k then just replace it with “****”. It’s your sandcastle after all and everyone will understand.

Until you explained it I thought it was TWIT. This was a term built in to the Nimrod drill trainer console. It meant That Was Incorrectly Typed.

I thought frigging was to do with untangling rigging.

Of the other examples of simply draws attention to the word but in papers it is usually only to report actual speech. Where you are the first person usage is only valid for 'expetive deleted ' when your cerebral cortex is otherwise distracted: for instance immediately after a miss hit with a hammer when SUGAR is perfectly reasonable.

I recently saw 'p***y' I think it might have been a Donald tweet. Had me puzzling what it might be.

And in polite RAF circles of a certain period the B-word is the only acceptable alternative to the Scottish Group Captain.

Agree PN to what you say about the media. I had a peek at CNN and MSNBC re Trump’s “shithole” fiasco when it was hot news and the leftist crazies there seemed to revel in just being able to say the word unrestricted on international TV. I think the Fox News presenters said it once or twice. The Bloomberg ones simply said “the S word” and didn’t say it at all IIRC.

As one will note there are popular Ops-n threads where I do not get overly too crude especially where the ladies frequent e.g Last 2 Letters and TPBM. Strongest I’ve posted in both is ‘bonking’ and ‘shagging’ I think. Same with highly technical discussions. There are times and places when it’s ok to swear and not to.

For outside-the-box stuff Plum is geniusly inventive. “Fuqqing” is but one example. I have patent rights to “Fuctifino” but I don’t use either in the above threads.

The witless Spanish socialist mayoress of Paris has turned the drop-off area for taxis into a vast concrete eco-friendly wasteland for pedestrians. Taxis must now stop illegally on a main road and passengers must struggle up a steep slope to reach the Gare de Lyon. If,
that is, they survive running across the road.
