That thrice-damned knot of the devil's own cord, Saddiqi Khan, Mayor of London (worse luck) is going to rename, at Londoner's expense, the branches of the London overground, to reflect the ethnic diversity blah blah blah, so can we look forward to Idle Muslim Valley, Living on Welfare Caribbean Shunting Yards, Somali and Like It, Sharia Junction, I've got Five Children by Five Different Bitches Overpass, and Beheading Corner? Diverse enough for you, Mr Mayor?
It is not a question of renaming, the lines he is proposing to assign names to are currently unnamed...
The London Overground now has 112 stations over six different lines, however none of the lines are named like on the London Underground.

The policy announcement will see a programme launched by Khan to choose names for the six lines, if he wins re-election on 6 May, however no details were given on what the criteria will be.

The mayor also announced his commitment to reduce Transport for London’s (TfL) debt pile, which was around £12bn before the impact of Covid-19.
Vote him out if you don't like the idea...

"... are named LIKE on the London underground......"

Who on earth wrote that ghastly piece of grammar?

We should emulate the Parisians, who name their underground stations after famous French victories, or what, being French, they perceive to have been victories...

None of the newspapers can be bothered to employ sub-editors these days. Before my brother took his last goodbye of this world, he worked for The Telegraph, a supposedly quality newspaper, and he noted that the place is full of young badly educated brats, the old respected stalwarts have gone, with nary a sub-editor to be seen!

Sic transit gloria mundi, or in the case of the overground railway system in London, sick of mass transit, then use a black cab! I can see OFSO clad in his medieval outfit, sitting in a black hansom cab being driven by a demon driver, propelled by red eyed ghost horses on some diabolical errand across the capital.

Technically that wasn't the French. Back in the day Normandy was British.

Napoleon did manage a few in his time.

Of course, we could have battles named from the French perspective, such as Agin-got-away.

Yes, but you would never manage the whole metro, would you?

Why is there a missing station between Tolbiac and Trinité? What could be missing?

Sic transit gloria mundi translates as "Don't worry if you get sick in transit as you'll be seeing Gloria on Monday. "

Drug manufacturers here are allowed by FCC / FDA to advertise their products on TV provided that they list all of the potential side effects. :-?
As a result, said ads caution of side effects such as terminal flatulence, excruciating BO, delirium, etc. :ymsick:
They also caution to not take said drug if you are allergic to said drug or its components. [-X
How the fcuk are you supposed to know if you are allergic to any of it? :-?? ~X(

One of the blue comedy types had the ultimate list of "possible side effects" including uneven tire wear.

Take a combination of the drugs simultaneously and see what happens! Just try and balance the uppers and downers, sleep through Sunday and come out smiling on Monday... =))

It is never good to read the contraindications, even for simple stuff like asparin/aspirin! I am sure I read it makes one's cock smaller or fall off, or green or something! :-?

Maybe this might go to one of the covid threads since people worrying about side effects of the vaccine have never read the once for some over the counter painkillers.
