The Old Wharf Tearoom, The Basin Main Street, Hickling LE14 3AH

Pretty sure that I am right but just illegally going out to try to illegally buy some booze. If not heard of for a few days please send food parcels to the prison, Maun.

That will be St Luke's in the background.

Well done sah.

It's a beautiful spot a bit further along me canal from where we're restoring the locks. The Grantham Canal is also known amongst the canal fraternity as the 'Romantic Canal', a term I used in an earlier clue.

You have the tiller sah....and if you get caught tell them a bigger boy made you do it.

Thank you 4m. Sorry for the delay folks negotiating booze for this prohibition. Success :-bd

Aha, I've been there, but only via the tradesmen's entrance, or apprentice tradesman at any rate.

Hmph! Never got anywhere near that when we did a CCF camp at RAF Halton in the late '50s.

Halton House.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halton_House
My boss told me about some course he and some fellow stacker officers were on at Halton. Apparently they were having a "few" beers in the bar and at the end of the evening "high spirits" were very much in evidence. Someone in the group thought it would be fun to put a female officer's hat on top of that ornament outside the entrance. Unfortunately the hat belonged to some very senior female personage of the Admin persuasion and the following morning the group found out just how much power and influence that branch had when it came to career progression. He said he now expected to be a Flt Lt for a lot longer than he had intended.

It is quite ridiculous. Six weeks professional training compared to a pilot of up to three years and they seem to run the station. When doing orderly rooms you would be given a sealed envelope from OC Admin with any previous convictions not to be opened until you made your judgement. Also if you found the accused guilt you were 'advised' on the sentence. I used to totally ignore all instructions.
