Thanks 4m. How about this:

Yes, that's correct.4mastacker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:20 pmAs it's looks nowt like The Snake Pass in the UK, dare I suggest The Hogback, Highway 12, Boulder, Utah?
Sorry, was away for longer than expected or I'd have responded sooner.

No problem. I guessed you may have been "diverted".llondel wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 9:06 pmYes, that's correct.4mastacker wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:20 pmAs it's looks nowt like The Snake Pass in the UK, dare I suggest The Hogback, Highway 12, Boulder, Utah?

4ma, I'm not convinced that your previous challenge was the A57 Snake Pass Road, it seems to narrow for that. Perhaps wrongly captioned somewhere on t'interweb.
These are pics of the location I was thinking of, both captioned as the Mam Tor road to Edale. Still, it's only a game!
No idea on the current challenge, first thought wa Plymouth Hoe, but it looks more like a parade ground.
Looking.

Pugwash - you have it - Plymouth Hoe. Over to you skipper.
There is a fine collection of statues and memorials on the Hoe, from the Spanish Armada memorial erected on the 300th anniversary in 1888, surmounted by Britannia, with Sir Francis Drake nearby, to the Royal Naval war memorial commemorating over 23,000 sailors lost in two world wars, the Royal Air Force and Allied Air Forces memorial and the Merchant Navy Memorial, long overdue and only finally unveiled in 2019.
Smeaton's Tower is also nearby, moved ashore from the Eddystone Rock when it started to fall apart. The stump is still visible on a clear day next to the second lighthouse.
Elsewhere in the city is a statue of the first woman to take her seat in the House of Commons - Nancy Astor, American born like Churchill.
Another important place is the Plymouth Gin Distillery, the oldest working distillery in the UK. Time for a Plymouth Gin and tonic now.

Ooops Cpt_P, mea culpa. I shall sit in the naughty corner with only a slice of stale bread and a beaker of brackish water for supper.

I'd better give a clue. The venue of an annual gastronomic event.

Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
Aha, a useful clue, 4ma. In this case we must be in Leicestershire, in the town of Melton Mowbray and this must be St Mary's church. Not a million miles from me and I have been there, but I didn't recognise it.
Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
If it is, I've walked past that church a hundred times, but failed to recognise it. I love MM, and its produce, and Rutland Water and the Hambleton Peninsula are are two of my most loved places in the UK.

T15, you win the p(r)ies. Yes, it is St Mary's in Melton Mowbray where the annual British Pie Championships are held - a very serious business it is too.
You have control, sir.

Easy one.
