Not Alaska. Farther South.

My comment to Siseman re looking like Norway may have been unintentionally misleading. I meant the photo looked like Norway. If one were to deplane at this location, it would be immediately apparent that it is NOT Norway, Alaska or Canada.

It would also be awkward, in that i do not think this location has an airport. :)

I'm guessing that the reason would be that the signs and so on would be in Cyrillic, so we might be looking at Россия?

No, the reason would be more climate related.

Yes,, it is. To be honest, I had never heard of the place, though some neighboring islands were fairly well known to me.

Those two mooring posts matched the ones in Martinique, so I was searching all the French islands. Dominica is the oddball in that they speak some French but are an Independent Republic, ex-BWI, and the satellite view doesn't show the posts due to weather, hence my delay in finding it. I bet they got the guys from neighbouring Martinique to build the cruise ship terminal.

The only thing I can remember about that place is our 16 year old guide in a bikini taking us on a tour climbing hot waterfalls. I was right behind her. :ymdevil:

No-one seems to have posted anything so here's one to be going on with. Shouldn't be too difficult.

I'd say it was Tienanmen (sp?) square but I've never been to China and almost certainly never will (from choice) and I suppose it all looks very similar.

Gosh, Sisemen, I didn't know that Cleethorpes was that impressive!

But not Cleethorpes surprisingly.

Cleethorpes isnt that impressive but their is a chinese restaurant in Hull that could have been modelled on that building, albeit a bit smaller. Not worth going though because it is John Prescott's favourite place and he goes there often and that could spoil your day.

Note.. John Prescott is the ex deputy leader of the last labour government, a bit of an aggressive leftie.. for those that don't know..

Isn't he known as 'two Jags', and he punched a journalist in the face once?
I'm not sure I can fault him on either count, but being a Labourite drags him down.

Not sure if it was a journo or just an aggrieved member of the public who threw the egg, but Prescott certainly reacted with a punch. Two different views here.
