Not Methodist, but not mainstream either. This Church belongs to the Anglian Communion and has seven Bishops.

7 bishops sounds like the Scottish Episcopal Church so this must be Scotland.

St John the Evangelist Scottish Episcopal Church

https://stjohnsforres.wordpress.com/

Mrs Ex-Ascot wants credit for saying it looks Italian. She was correct.
The church was designed in 1841 by Patrick Wilson but very soon afterwards remodelled by Thomas Mackenzie in the Italian Style with its Wheel Window: three arch loggia at ground level and its impressive four storey Tuscan Campanile. Despite its deceiving appearance, it is one of the older buildings of the Scottish Episcopal Church in Scotland.

Credit to Mr and Mrs Ex A here, it is the very attractive Scottish Episcopal Church in Forres high street. Well found, your roll of the dice.

Thanks OM. Cape, please be a sport and drop back on this one as I mentioned this place to you earlier today and thought at the time it would be a good challenge for WoE.

Looks Colonial, but the vegetation looks more northern Europe so somewhere in Skandahooligan land?

Not sure exactly what you mean but I think that you are in the right mind set.

As Ex-A is slumbering peacefully (hopefully no JB noise) and I know where this is, I'll respond by confirming that you have hit the right note by saying 'Skandahooligan' land.

Thanks for that Cape, made the search a lot easier.
T'is the house of the late Mr & Mrs Greig, Troldhaugen, Bergen in sunny Norway.

If correct it must be OH as I will be on the golf course tomorrow (but not if it's raining. I can handle the 50mph wind gusts but not rain as well!)

Thanks for standing in there Cape

Correct of course. I was saying to Cape that I had heard the opening of Grieg's piano concerto played there on his piano. His ashes are in a hole in the cliff beneath the house.

Older than it looks? The church in Kinoulton, Notts, which has a similar style, was built in the 1790s. The looks belies it's age. Lack of windows ...maybe not a church?

Search for "Redbrick chapel in southern England" leads us to the Watts Chapel, https://www.wattsgallery.org.uk/about-us/watts-story/

It was featured yesterday Bargain Hunt I think, the history is worth a read and the interior is something else.

The wand passes to Dorset.

Trees do not look like UK, especially the tall narrow cypress trees, but background landscape does look northern Europe along a river. Germany?
