Don't know the answer but regarding Lincoln Cathedral they started building from both ends and when they met the central strut didn't line up so the join has a small kink in it very obvious when you look up..

Seems like om's been distracted so I'll jump in. Sometimes one comes across a structure that is a bit eccentric and would apparently be a good subject for in here. But then again the more outlandish it is the more easily it is found so this one may well go quickly:
