I believe it's in Alaska, not quite sure where, but almost certainly located on one of the cruise routes through the NW Passage.

A friend of mine has a business supplying Tanzanites to various outlets globally and I was at one point somewhat involved with this so it's something of which I have a little knowledge.

Yes, Cape, a cruise port in Alaska. It featured in one of Portaloos railway programmes ( which have very little to do with railways).

I found this photo of Haines which does look like the location, complete with cruse ship.

Not Haines.
I think your pic may have been mis-labeled, OM. I have a seen this very slightly different one captioned as the challenge location.

My picture was in a tourist blog that identified it as Haines, but on checking it is nearby Skagway , both the above photos have the same camper van heading towards us but different cruise ships tied up!

Skagway it is , OM. I think that the " camper van " is a shuttle bus for the cruise ship passengers.

It looks an interesting place Puggie. Here is a period building rather nearer home, but not for Fox perhaps (where is he these days?)

Yep, I thought the GWR in the stonework would lead you there, caught a few trains from there when I lived nearby, well found, Sméagol to spin

Evening all.

Looks familiar, and noting the cornish flag, looked in that area first and found it on Geograph.

St Just in Roseland.

Thanks, here we go then. A castle and lifeboat station should make it a doddle.

re St Just in Roseland, have been there many times, a wonderful spot by the creek to just sit and unwind when one is stressed. Nearly had a heart attack when walking up those steps and through the gardens back to the car park though!

The churchyard at St Just is a very tranquil spot, on a visit there once it was completely deserted, but what was slightly eerie there were several largish cargo ships in long term storage on the river nearby, completely silent with no one around.
