Yes I agree maybe the one below. I think the photo was recently in the news because the authorities bulldozed up a homeless chap in a tent there. It is near St. Stephen’s Green and the National Gallery of Ireland.

Ex-A has nailed it. I can't remember the name of that bridge but it is between Grand Canal Dock and Charlemont Street, right next to one of the locks. I used to walk that way daily. It's probably Leeson Street, and yes, it was in the news because they tried unsuccessfully to airlift an invader back to Eritrea.
No hippos in that body of water.

Thanks Cape. I think that this is an interesting one. Lifted from Google Earth but I only post places that I have been to. In this case many years ago.

Artnoon all.
I've been there too, in the mid-sixties on a side trip from Bergen as part of a schools cruise on the SS Nevasa.
If it is the home of Edvard Grieg, that is. Can't remember the name of the property.

OH if confirmed.

I am not claiming this, Cpt. Pugwash has it, but the name is Troldhaugen.

I did not expect this one to go so fast. I was prepared to give a clue of 'A place of note up A minor road'. Here is Mr Privet as Morecambe and Wise called him conducting it with a pretty well known chap on the ivories. Don't know how these pianists memorise the whole thing. Had a girl friend once who could do this.

OK if it is OH again and the last one went so fast try this.

'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside' - that's the Hippodrome at Nice on the Cote D'Azur I think.

Bit busy so OH if correct.

Compared with satellite view on Google, I would agree it is the Hippodrome, near Nice.

They only have to remember the next chord.

Might be this boat, if it is we are fishing for squid off the coast of south Africa.

Hard to tell and you might be correct, although there are some differences between the boats. I posted it mainly because it was sent to me earlier by a friend and I thought it was a good photo .... but the location is what I wanted ... and you are right it is off the coast of ZA. I doubt if they are fishing for squid, it's mostly trawl fishing in that area. However, I don't know much about fishing.

They are at anchor and they have to be moving to trawl, but they may catch squid when at anchor. I have been on a trawler for a trip but not a squider!!

It's probably a bit of a tall order to expect anyone to ID the location. I would not have been able to do so.
Seals in another language might be a clue as to roughly where the photo was taken from.
