OM15 this is indeed Dom Perignon himself. I suspect that a few of the houses have the same window celebrating the 'inventor of champagne'. This is however not the house of Moet et Chandon.

Then we are in the Taittinger Cellars in Rheims, which I should have known as I have been there.

Spot on OM15. Sorry just corrected a mistake. I refereed incorrectly to the house Dom Perignon which of course is a Moet Chandon tipple.
All yours Sir.

Well that didn't last long! It is indeed Dunvegan castle. (I once lived in a Dunvegan House, a Georgian ex-rectory, which I rented from a Mr Macleod)

Thanks Smeagol. Home of the MacLeod of MacLeod. Forbidding looking place isn't it?
Sticking with the castle theme, how about this one?

Isn't that the castle where a king (?) was locked in the dungeons and forgotten about?
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Morning all.
I suspect that FD2s challenge may be Rosyth Castle. It has apeared here before, although from a different viewpoint.

Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
And here's me thinking I had found something new...
Built around 1450 and occupied by Cromwell's men in 1651, it used to be on an island and only accessible at low tide. Taken over from the Earl of Hopetoun by the Admiralty in 1903, land reclamation meant that it was eventually surrounded and became part of the Dockyard. With the more recent contraction of the Dockyard it is now on the periphery, back in private hands and open to the public.
Well done Pugwash - it's in your hands now!

Thanks, FD2. When I worked for Aunty Betty, I had a few duty trips to Rosyth Dockyard.

One of a (surprising, to me anyhow)
number of abandoned castles in the area.Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.
Re: The Smokin' Hot Where On Earth Thread Mk III
This style is very similar to the ruins of Burgruine Kurnberg near Stamsried, Germany, are we in this part of the world?
