For the Ex-Ascots have entertained angels unwares!

I guess "about 40 clicks out of town mate" wouldn't exactly satisfy the local MUB Immigrationary as an address now would it.

Capt, In t' bush we do not have addresses. House name and nearest village. However as residents they can give our name and we will be on the system. If it is working.
Pretty warm.here. They have to walk to the terminal from the aircraft which it currently right base. The tarmac will be scorching. Bet his first comment is about the heat. Brill.

Sorry to report folks but he is fine with the heat up at crack of sparrows just going around with his gob wide open amazed with the place. Flying out to the camp late morning. Will report back Thursday afternoon.

Sorry again folks no dramatics. He was cool with all the wild life. However now suffering big time with 40°. Just got back home and going to chuck him in the pool.
We had a towel stolen from our veranda yesterday afternoon by baboons. They put it back in a sorry state in the middle of the night. Guess they just wanted to go for a dip in the lagoon.

That is the one Caco. Could hardly refuse him the towel.
We have decided we are a bit better today. Managed egg and toast and on 1st beer. Still complaining about the heat and couldn't sleep cos of the noise of the bush. Seems to be happy to be here though.

We will not borrow the spare car as he is not happy driving through the bush on his own to the main road. Doesn't know how to drive a 4x4 or an automatic!

I've noticed sah that Mubville metars lately top around the high 30s with a very low dew point. Might be a tad warm to the odd gravedigger, pool constructor and slate layer but I wouldn't call it unbearably hot just sitting there taking in the view.
Maybe he'd be quite happy just watering mammoths in the mid afternoons.

A friend of mine and his wife, both sadly dead now from heart problems in their early 60's", had sea facing tourist chalets up on the mountain above Wilderness village. A beautiful tranquil spot that echoed the sound of the sea which one German guest objected to, saying that it was too loud and checked out to stay in a B&B on the N2 highway further up the road!Ex-Ascot wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:22 amThat is the one Caco. Absolutely correct Capt. I think we are OK with the heat now. To be honest it is perfect. He is saying as it in not humid it is better than when hot in Greece. He is bloody lucky. Before the rains at this time of year it could be 50.

Just got back home in the UK, not a bad flight especially as the one from Friday night was delayed 24 hours due to flight crew going sick
I’m working my way through this list Caco, but the tandem sky dive is right out

Woody I can also recommend the Blaauwkranz River Bridge bungee jump, at one time the highest in the world, done by me and my old German friend Mathias, he having died as well last year at only 56!

I don't blame you, the walk out under the bridge to the jump point is more stressful than the jump itself!Woody wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 9:55 amI’ve stopped and watched that and that’s as close as I’m goingCacophonix wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 9:51 amWoody I can recommend the Blaauwkranz River Bridge bungee jump, at one time the highest in the world, done by me and my old German friend Mathias, he having died as well last year at only 56!

I watched grade 1 idiots bungee jumping off the bridge at Vic Falls!
They must be absolutely insane.
One guy did it wearing a suit, just so he could claim to be the 1st person to do so.
How daft can you get?

The Bloukrans Bridge people offer concessions to retirees and a free jump to the oldest person to hop off ian16th. It is silly but worth doing at least once.
