Re: Proud dad
My congratulations as well. Really nice of you to offer her assistance back then and advice from now on.
Re: Proud dad
Took my first flight with her today, Lee - Cambridge - Lee. Just a short flight, but enough for me to see some of the pretty Maryland coast & countryside.
Re: Proud dad
Congrats Hydro! It's satisfying indeed to have the fruit of one's loins chauffeur one around the sky!
Re: Proud dad
Daughter has now started doing her instrument rating. Having fun flying around with 'foggles'. I think she enjoys this flying lark.

Awesome Hydro!...I can understand how proud you are!!

Re: Proud dad
Woohoo, she successfully completed her IR test today. I think she's looking forward to just doing some recreational flying now, rather than lessons and checks.

Re: Proud dad
Happy young lady in a PA28 on a sunny day (seen in the earlier photo) and now an even prouder dad. What could be better. Kudos to you all.
Did she do the IR in the PA28 and where is she based, the USA or Australia? Whatever the case she might be becoming a worthy successor to this lady...

Re: Proud dad
She's based in the USA, did the IR in a Cessna 172. Not sure what she wants to do next. Needs to learn a bit about mountain flying where she is, and I think she wants to learn to drive a taildragger prior to aerobatics.
Re: Proud dad
Thanks Slash, will mention it to her.
Re: Proud dad
Hydro - quick question while I can: is your dort a CPL or PPL holder? If CPL can she please check with FAA if it accepts taildragger endorsement from a Thai CPL holder (sans QFI)?
Under the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) regs, CPL to CPL endorsement can be done without the endorser needing a CAAT QFI ticket (similar to Oz CASA Part 61 I think). If dorta is a PPL it’s a different ball game.
Don’t have time now to dig it up but you can find the CAAT ref somewhere here if you want:

Re: Proud dad
PPL Slash.
I suspect she'll do it in the states eventually. At present, she just wants to do some recreational flying.
