Now here's a fry pan worthy of the name.

Frightfully jolly pan, Mr Boat. One fears yon eggy would be better used for resoling a flip flop by the time the sossinges are done though. The precise timing required to avoid that scenario would cause one's brain to liquefy.

The answer to all things eggs lies close to here.

Wrap them in bacon and I think we have the answer to the meaning of life... Image

Just discovered this thread:

Scrambled should make you bored with the amount of time it takes while stirring like a demon. Listening to Neil Young helps, for those who like his tunes. I reccomend "Harvest"

I do that too, Wings!

..and they can make even Gordon Ramsay polite !!

Duck eggs as often as possible. Boiled and sliced on a sarnie with a bit of rocket is a nice lunch. They also make great omelettes or scrambled egg. Using the yolk and a good rapeseed oil, they make fantastic mayo and tartare sauce, a lovely deep yellow.

Getting peckish now . . .

Hard boiled eggs can be swallowed whole. And that makes for an easy breakfast! Must go and make the egg sandwiches for tomorrow's trip to Kalgoorlie. Chopped hard boiled eggs, add Heinz salad cream and apply liberally between two buttered slices of crusty white bread. Mm mm hmmm!

Add a chopped onion and a big dollop of hot English mustard to the salad cream. Gives it a most pleasant bite.

Those who allege to know what is bad for you will steer you away from hard boiled eggs. They suggest eggs "mollet".

I tend to agree, not on health grounds, but gustative grounds.

An egg cooked so that the white is firm, but the yellow bit still runny is hard to achieve but worth the trouble.

Accompany with crisp toast, salted butter and you are in paradise.

Have to disagree, it's a case of doing it a couple of times and watching the clock closely.

The role of eggs, as well as butter, in the vast array of creations in pastry, baking, confection, and so many more of the things we eat that make life worth living, is immense. The egg is a marvel of nutrition and protein, coming in its own natural packaging, affordably produced, and is indispensible.

MagnusP mentioned duck eggs; I prefer them to chickens eggs if I have the choice. Many moons ago a colleague of mine had many ducks and many surplus eggs -bliss :) Now I'm lucky if I can buy a decent chicken egg, but shouldn't complain as the local free range eggs in Greece are lovely! :D

One of my favourite sandwiches is made, so Mr Tesco advertises, with free range eggs. Free Range Egg Sandwich, it says on the packet. So how do they catch them? Are cowboys employed to ride after them and lasso them? Hi, ho, Silver, get after them danged eggs! And why doesn't the lasso just fall off? We should be told.
