Kristallnacht
As many here will know, having lived in Germany for 25 years, and having many fond memories of the country, I find myself in internal conflict when I think of the beastliness Germans happily indulged in (or ignored) towards the Jews in the 1930s and 1940s. Today is the 80th anniversary of the Kristallnacht and Jews around the world are keeping a candle lit in memory of that particular act and those who suffered. Not being Jewish but having had Jewish friends and colleagues, we are doing the same.
