I counted it an absolute privilege to have read posts by such a gentleman.

Re: Danny42C
Having long been banished from the unhallowed portal that is TOP I was hitherto unaware of Danny42C but having looked to see who he was I am filled respect for the chap. Clearly the world has lost a good man who had a good innings. May he RIP.

Re: Danny42C
Never understood how he ended up in Middlesbrough.
I know he ended his RAF career with the Auxiliaries at RAF Thornaby, but I ended my time at RAF Marham didn't settle in Kings Lynn.

Re: Danny42C
That thread was the longest running thread ever in TOP. Before I left for these hallowed portals I got the feeling that he was wondering whether it had run its course and, just maybe, it was time to stop. It's a wonder he kept it going for so long (having taken over from Cliff nemo before him). They brought together some wonderful stories over a very long time. I know it's not original, but I doubt we'll see his like again (because they're all gone).

So sad that he has gone. A wonderful innings, very well played.

Re: Danny42C
An amazing thread he ran. Thank the Lord that Wankin Wob didn't manage to put him off by deleting, banning or other tactics.
Re: Danny42C
May I ask the name of the thread and what particular forum at TOP he contributed to?
Re: Danny42C
Slash, it's in 'Gaining a Pilot's Brevet in WW II', in the Military Aviation forum.
