Another one I would not call my 'Current Soundtrack', but today as I was doing 'Thursday Housework', I was listening to Jimmy Buffets "Radio Margaritaville" over the internet, and a remake of the below song came on, I was stunned, then I at the 'Views'

That one was hugely popular in South Africa as well. Larrikin Music in Australia took Men at Work to the cleaners on that one claiming copyright infringement.

I've got me a Texan hat... bought by a grateful client in Dallas... very proud of it... :)

Sad that JJ Cale is no longer with us. He was such a good musician, the epitome of of cool and, apparently, a very nice guy too. The world needs more people like him.

I am a big Lyle Lovett fan, so I won't demur at his dismissal of plastic Texans...

As for the hat, I wore it without a hitch in Dallas, not a soul blinked but on the two occasions I attempted to wear it in London, the following two events occurred:

1) I was importuned by a bunch of workmen with builder's bums from a building site...

2) I was laughed at by a hen party group who asked me to perform that YMCA song by the Village People...

=))

I have therefore placed the hat on top of my globe in my study. Texas, dominating the world... seems apt...

As for the rest...I am not Jewish, but this bloke seems to epitomise a certain Texan grittiness...
