Some dark times produced some great music then, by artists who had lived the life as well as singing about it.
This was working class England as I knew it - every line resonates - fortunately, I had a way out.

I have both The Lotus Eaters and The Rockford Files series on dvd. I never saw Hill Street Blues, but that theme was everywhere in about 1982.

Steve McDonald is a talented bod with Jock roots based in NZ, so that's something good to come out of that beautiful but beleaguered country
