Did you play the pipes at St Stithians? :)

No Gob,they did not have a pipe band in my day , but I now have a Faegerstrom Technopipe that I play ,badly I might add, these days.I have always enjoyed the bagpipes and really like how they are now used in pop and rock.

Other great band to watch are The Red Hot Chilli Pipers,The Glengarry Bhoys and The Kildares. It is good to hear the pipes playing jigs and reels.

Also if you want to watch something worthwhile watch the documentary called Flamekeeper which is the story about Micheal Cleveland.

<<Oh my gosh, how good is that. Thanks for posting Stoneboat…>>

Kinda raises the hair on the back of your neck doesn't it?

There's another version out there filmed at the Bannockburn memorial that's pretty awesome.

You know that I’ve got to put the original up :D

When all else fails, read the instructions.

Roger Whittaker. I was lucky enough to go to a concert he gave at a venue called Caesar's Palace, I think it was in Luton or Watford, somewhere ghastly, in the very early 1970s. It was a memorable evening, he is a brilliant performer.

A South African group called Four Jacks and a Jill, best known for 'Master Jack', recorded a cover of The Last Farewell, about a young man leaving on the train during South Africa's war against terrorists on the Angolan border.

One of the 'Jacks', was the son of a former Lancaster pilot and former WAAF cook, who were both members of the Joburg RAFA.

Another one that should get your foot tapping Gob.You should also look up their version of "Insomnia" (which I know you suffer from on occasion)

Not quite Highland Pipes but a nice jazz version of Amazing Grace I thought.

Gunhild Carling is pretty talented and plays several instruments.
