It beats working for a living
It beats working for a living
'They were escorted away by police' - words fail me! A similar gang of 'travellers' were naughty boys in Cromer, Norfolk last year. In their case the police were afraid to tackle them at all and the chief constable had to make a public apology, but it's alright because none of those poor misunderstood darlin's had their feelings hurt. They had a great time during their visit and will probably have another trip there some time.

What really pisses me off about these pikey scum is that they are parasites who leech off society,. but you can be sure that if they or their filthy caravan sites were attacked by a vigilante gang they would be screaming for police protection and all the benefits of a society to which they don't want to contribute anything.

If I remember correctly James Martin of Martin Baker fame was attacked by a "traveller" and suffered a serious head injury after he confronted "travellers" who had squatted on his property.

They should let the SAS use them for a night training exercise. The next morning the caravans are found to be empty and the scum wake up to find they are back in Ireland or where ever they came from.Sorted.
Re: It beats working for a living
I don't have a problem with people who choose to live outwith societal norms, but then they must take the consequences of that. It's rather like people who don't take insurance, or to put it another way, act as their own insurers. That's fine, but they mustn't come bleating when it all goes tits-up.

Re: It beats working for a living
I know I am weird, but I consider the travellers are victims of deception. The owner of the site agreed to pay and then it change its mind and he did not pay thus a huge loss for the travellers. Plus I intend to ask my big breasted leftist sociologist friend who has worked with Roma and knows how much they suffer.
Re: It beats working for a living
RiS: These are not Roma. I don't think the UK has such a problem with Roma people as other European countries have. These people are not even true 'gypsies' but what would have been called 'tinkers' in times past but the 'real' tinkers used to travel around and make a living by doing useful jobs for cash as they travelled around. This bunch of 'travellers' are a different sort of people altogether.
Re: It beats working for a living
They are not Roma, gipsies, travellers or tinkers. They do absolutely nothing productive or of value to society, in fact quite the opposite, they are parasitic freeloading vermin.
Re: It beats working for a living
How tragic.Travellers have said they now “live in fear” following government plans for new, tougher powers for unauthorised encampments.
Re: It beats working for a living
If they would turn up, stay a few nights and depart, leaving the site in at least as good a condition as they found it, most people probably wouldn't be bothered.

I remember as a kid in Ireland the Gypsies would pitch up with horse and caravan and work on the land. Our family would feed them in return. Probably a few quid handed over.

Re: It beats working for a living
For years in Lincolnshire we had a true gypsy. She would pitch up on the same pitch on the edge of the village, on a grass verge, with her horse drawn caravan. She would stay a few weeks and move on. The place was always immaculate.
The pikeys that leave a site looking like a garbage dump have the same outlook as third world countries where litter is simply dumped.
Went on a cruise and last day were put on a table with a number of them. Dripping with gold they put bags on chairs either side to stop us getting too close.

Re: It beats working for a living
I lived for a while in the 70s on a farm in the Fens. We had seasonal workers, gypsies, who came and helped at harvest time.
Their caravans and the area around was spotless. Nice people, always with a smile. Most of them spoke their own language (Romany I suppose). Good workers too.
The present day pikeys are just scum and should not be called gypsies.

What a surprise, the scumbags are up to their tricks again. They must be the unluckiest family in the country - everywhere they go they seem to have really bad neighbours..

Some ski masks, baseball bats, front end loaders and a posse of volunteers in dead of night should sort the feckers out.

'People treat us like animals.'
There's a reason for that.
Some ski masks, baseball bats, front end loaders and a posse of volunteers in dead of night should sort the feckers out.
Napalm or an AK47 would be my choice.
