CENTRAL, AZ — A Graham County man is dead after he was shot while wearing a ballistic vest by another man, officials say.

Sheriff's officials report that first responders were called to a shooting along a river area in Central, Arizona, on Monday evening.

A man, later identified as 25-year-old Parker Ray Lynch, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Medical aid was given at the scene and he was taken to the hospital where he died during surgery.

According to the investigation, Parker and two acquaintances were reportedly shooting at a ballistic vest with ballistic plates that belonged to Parker. At one point, it appears Parker put on the vest with the plate and had one of the men shoot the vest while it was being worn.

Officials say the single round from a .223 single-shot rifle went through the vest and plate, hitting Parker.

The man who shot the gun, Steven R. Watson, was booked into jail on a manslaughter charge.

It's not clear whether this man qualifies but he's certainly made a good effort.
Marion, Indiana (Fox 5 NY) - A man accidentally shot himself in the penis early Thursday, police said.

Police in Marion, Indiana say Mark Anthony Jones, 46, was carrying a 9mm handgun in his waist band when it began to slip. He reached down to adjust the gun and it fired.

The bullet entered just above his penis and exited his scrotum, police said. Police were called to the emergency room of Marion General Hospital to take the report on the accidental shooting.

Jones' condition was not released.

Police say that Jones does not have an Indiana Handgun License. The case will be sent to the Grant Co. Prosecutors office for review, according to a news release.

"Today's incident will perhaps finally help to resolve this long-term problem," said Zdechov mayor Tomas Kocourek.
I don't think there's any "perhaps" about it!

Woman steps over a barrier in an Arizona zoo and turns her back on a jaguar to take a selfie. She survived. Just. Zoo management said "The barriers are there to protect visitors. Nothing we can do to stop people stepping over them". (Except, perhaps, supplying the animals with Tabasco or HP Sauce).

How can a barrier low enough to step over stop a Jaguar?

Not life threatening, but there was a chimpanzee in the Nairobi Game Reserve Orphanage. It was called Sebastian. Now Sebastian was very clever and liked a cigarette. He soon realised that visitors like to see him masturbate but he would only masturbate if given a cigarette.

He was in a cage and visitors were behind a barrier about 10 feet back. As well as throwing him cigarettes they would pull faces and try and make him do tricks. He obliged.

.
He would like up a rotten orange and hurl it through the bars and over the barrier dropping it accurately into a deserving tourist.

Who says animals don't have a sense of humour.

The barrier was to stop humans but sadly it relied on their intelligence. The fence kept the jaguar inside, but not it's legs nor its claws.

There was an orangutan in Jersey zoo which invited visitors to participate in a tug-of-war using a rolled up piece of card thrust thru the bars. Guess who always won ?

'scuse sick sense of humour, but think anyone who flies in a 737 Max-8 is worthy of a Darwin award.

From what I've seen so far 738 training doesn't cover one for a MAX. It has a very different flt ctl system and puter software.

On the radio tonight that was echoed. I didn't get full detail in heavy traffic, something about they didn't want to confuse the customer and worry them that they needed to retrain their crews, so they weren't told all the technical details. Conversion was a 56 minute video.

Boeing could cop something worse than Volkswagen if this prove true.

As I've said before elsewhere, to implement using a big bloody stabiliser to augment an automatic flight control nose down input for stall prevention (and a nose up input for steep turn altitude maintainence) is an act of sheer lunacy. False ADR inputs to IAS or false AoA data being the governing factor. Even the Ffrogs weren't that stupid with their 320 (auto-input override is elevator only).

Her mother said:
'So many people have said they play a similar game with marshmallows. Even my 90-year-old aunt said she does it with Maltesers.

Definitely not a qualifier for Darwin as she's already bred a daughter and such stupidity obviously runs in the family, specifically on the female side.

UP, coincidence as she was adopted and the aunt was of the mother.

But the young daughter has probably got the stoopid gene and will pass it on unless she develops a penchant for Maltesers or Jaffa Cakes before she spawns.

I see US country & western singer, Justin Carter, has shot himself in the head while making a music video in Houston. The gun was a prop., sadly it was a real gun and loaded, and did exactly what it was supposed to do when he looked down the barrel and pulled the trigger.

Clearly our cousins don't teach "only point a gun at what you want to kill" and "treat all guns as loaded, even if someone tells you it isnt".
