I too had to look it up.

The marketing blurb uses all of the words, rare, limited-edition and flagship, that I associate with unnecessarily 'Expensive', for something fashionable.

I won't be looking for it, but if I come across a bottle, at what I consider an acceptable price, I'll give it a go.

G-CPTN, a blight in, I think, the 1950s wiped out the variety everywhere except Chile, and that's where I first encountered the wine about 25 years ago. It is now a firm favourite.

Been busy in the kitchen this morning preparing brown rice and spinach bake for lunch and butternut squash soup for supper. :)

I'm taking advantage of all the fresh veggies that I stocked up on yesterday in the supermarkets. :YMPARTY:

Roast elf today - legolam. Gravy, baby spuds, and roast butternut squash to accompany. I was going to make posh marmalade bread and butter pudding, but there was no brioche in the shop (first world problem). Rice pudding will have to suffice.

Had a bbq in the back garden, some lovely venison burgers and kebab skewers from our local butchers, washed down with a particularly fine kiwi merlot( thanks John).
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Rosbif.

Partly in honour of Macron, who has been talking some sense recently.

Home grown and hung for 25 days in the chillroom (le boeuf, pas Monsieur le Macron) and done to perfection.

Marinaded in a concoction of fresh orange juice and lemon and soy sauce and honey. A trick I learned from a Philipino sea-cook who I worshipped, and have put three of his children through University after he died at an appallingly young age.

Cooked to perfection and not beyond.

Bloody marvellous!

No wine with it though. I'm still on QRA to do a drive that I really truly madly deeply hope will not be necessary.

Good Scotch beef is very hard to beat. Never been done (no pun intended) to my knowledge, though I've enjoyed a wonderful Texan T-bone in that rather odd part of the world. That one was a pretty fair imitation of Scotch beef.
