Avocado & Prawn cocktail, with a chilled French Rosé...

Roast Rack of Lamb with Rosemary roasted potatoes & carrots in duck fat (from last nights duck breasts, rosemary from the back yard) & a green bean casserole, with a slightly cooled Barossa Shiraz...

Possibly Madagascan vanilla rice pudding for afters...

Not much at all for tea, as we had a magnificent take away fathers day brunch from our local cafe/restaurant. Fried eggs, bacon, chorizo, avocado, mushrooms, tomato, felafel, with sourdough toast (for me) and toasted banana bread for her.

.Who came up with the idea of putting a slug of cold coffee in red wine.
A criminal, perhaps?

On both counts...ruining wine and serving cold coffee.

One is preparing a seafood risotto tonight. Always a family hit: razor clams, mussels, clams and octopus. I'll add a couple of tablespoons full of marscapone with the parmigiana for an extra rich, creamy finish.

Had a very nice picanha last night, so it'll be leftover rare beef with chips and pickles. Mondays are easy.

Off to Blackpool today, which can only mean one thing, visit to Bispham Kitchen on Red Bank Road for fish and chips and making chip butties with white bread :-bd :-bd :-bd

Edit- nearly forgot about the mugs of tea 🫖
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Last night was baked flathead fillets with Mrs. Hydro's secret batter, with more herbs & spices than the Colonel's chicken. Home grown carrots and sweet potato chips. I'll be having the left-over fillets for lunch tomorrow, cold.

Just mixed up some Mango Habanero Guacamole purchased ready-to-mix from the grocery store deli.
Quite good even if it was a little short on habaneros.
Could have been a bit hotter. I may have to experiment with what's left.

Friday for us is wine and take-away, and we have a variety of excellent places nearby. One does the best pizzas around, but last night I wasn't very hungry, so ordered a burger instead. The quality of their burgers is right up there with their pizzas. Why would anyone ever go to the golden arches.
