Local fishmonger gets samphire. I just rinse it, wilt it in a bit of butter, add a squeeze of lemon juice and serve it with bass or bream. Very tasty.
I presume that you are getting 'vegetation' rather than stalks?

I like (white) asparagus shoots dipped in melted butter - first experienced in Germany in 1968 (?) - May, I believe.

Never been to a McDonalds in my life and have no wish to do so. I'm minded of the Mick Dundee quip: It tastes like schitt but you can live on it if you have to.

Did once, circa 1980 I think, perhaps in Sahfend (kinEssex), accept some Kentucky Fried Rat. The batter was much tastier than the rat.

This evening I enjoyed, as an experiment, some chicken in batter made exactly in accordance with the secret recipe of the KF Rat formula.

Here's the secret formula:

Mixed with 2 Cups of white flour.
2⁄3 Tablespoon Salt
1⁄2 Tablespoon Thyme
1⁄2 Tablespoon Basil
1⁄3 Tablespoon Oregano
1 Ts Celery salt
1 Ts Black pepper
1 Ts Dried mustard
4 Tablespoon Paprika
2 Tablespoon Garlic salt
1 Tablespoon Ground ginger
3 Tablespoon White pepper

It was actually quite edible.

Next time, I'll have the galley slave do the same thing, but excluding the garlic and the mustard.

I've been told that squirrel is actually quite good if cooked in the Kentucky Fried Rat style. I shall experiment with that in modified form with those two ingredient exclusions and report back to this House in due course.

Hainanese Chicken with accompanying rice and soup, there'll be leftovers and there is 3 bags of ginger / green onion stock now to go to the freezer.

This recipe seems always to work well, but being paranoid about food safety' mine is always at gentle boil rather than just kinda sitting in hot water...

No bass or bream in the fishmonger today, so it's lemon sole tonight. Lemon & butter sauce with a few capers and some parsley. If I was feeling posh, I'd call it poisson meunière.

Harbour fishing in Denmark we caught 41 dabs in just over an hour - so we gave up and went home - it was no longer challenging.

A local taught us how to strip them for the pan.

Went to Denmark, once, worked through the weekend at a place called Sonderburg (sp). Nearly in Germany.

I prefer to grill them both sides and then lift fillets off the bone. You lose less of the flesh that way.A touch of salt and a hint of lemon juice.....bliss.

Dab = smallish flatfish.Don't know how big they grow in Denmark but one weighing a pound in the UK would be a good size.Plaice,Flounder and Dab are often confused by anglers.

Home-made chips for dinner tonight - far superior to the bought stuff*.

I found the Dab gave a reasonable knock when it took the bait, often thought it was something bigger.
Harbour fishing in Denmark we caught 41 dabs in just over an hour -
On one superb boat match off Flamborough Head, our boat landed 100+ plaice - some were 7lb+. The fillets were absolutely huge.

*(Had to say that; Mrs 4ma was watching me post).
It's always my fault - SWMBO
