Large and late Italian lunch floored us.

Favourite small restaurant in Rondebosch, piri-piri chicken or kinglip or a juicy fillet washed down with Gabrielskloof Shiraz.

Cape, kingklip for me, please.

Tonight is a chargrilled shorthorn rump steak. Veggies and a bottle of Pinotage. If Brexit fails, I may move to the Cape.

Don’t tempt me, especially as one of these restaurants is a two minute walk of our apartment :-bd

Sounds like she is feeling fit again! :-bd

I'm having Ox Tail.
I might find a bottle of something red to go with it.

She’s actually making very good progress indeed Ian. Cooking and talking today like no tomorrow.

Early dinner this afternoon at my favourite Indonesian in Leiden. Lunch? Don't know. Probably the Pannekoekhuis.

Sorry mate but it’s far too yummy to doggy bag. Me and the kid had to force ourselves not to wolf down the bloody lot so we’d have some left for today’s lunch.

The same I reckon would go for TS’s tomato risotto! 😋

Yeh Fliegs I had to look up what fettle meant. There are at least one or two new words that I learn each week from reading posts.

Tonight just simple but yummy fare - Thai style fish with veggies.

A good word is "fettle" I often have to explain it to some of my colleagues at the men's shed. Odd in a way as most are in the same age bracket as I am. But unless you've been around industry in some form you may not have come across it.
Knocking off casting marks from cast iron or mould supports from ceramic pots to make them fit for use. Leads on to the statement that if you are "in fine fettle" you are in good shape and ready to go. A useful old fashioned word. I like it.

A king prawn and scallop stir fry helped along with some of Henry Westons vintage cider ( 8.2% ) and some Malbec.

It has to be quick and easy as the o/h is out until about 2030 so I'm making a cheese and mushroom omelette with 'petit pois' and potato croquettes. She won't approve so her choices will be that or nothing. The peas are only to have some 'green' content to appease her.

So peas appease then. Mangoes mangle.

We’ll be going into town early tonight to our favourite restaurant L ‘animal Dead for steak Diane with trimmings and a nice wine.

Coleslaw and a very nice fillet of fresh Barramundi, to be lightly coated in flour and shallow fried, touch of D&P, lemon juice, washed down with a WA Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
