Maybe a poor man's pizza? Anyway it was very nice.

Talking about pizza's always makes me think about our favourite Italian restaurant on Amorgos. Owned by a Greek man and his lovely Italian wife who makes the best pizzas in the World! .Can't wait until we get back there next April for our next pizza fix.

Will be gnocchi with gorgonzola at the local Italian. It has a huge, varied menu, all of which is really well done and I NEVER succeed in making myself order anything different.

Talking about pizza's always makes me think about our favourite Italian restaurant

Having spent the 1970s living very near Bedford - which at one time had the largest percentage immigrant population in Britain - Italians brought in to work in the brickworks - a genuine pizza (and other Italian dishes) wasn't hard to find.
One particular pizza emporium was literally a hole in a wall on a street corner with a wood-fired oven - and they spun the dough to stretch it.
The 'best' Italian restaurant was managed by 'Mamma' - who also did the cooking whilst her sons ran the 'front of house'.
On a trip to Bristol I was promised a meal at the best Italian restaurant in Britain (!) - which turned out to be rubbish.
When I asked for Zabaglione they admitted they had never heard of it.

Mangalorean chicken curry, spinach and potato dhal, garlic and coriander naan, basmati. That's lunch and, going by the size of the pot, probably several lunches and teas to come.

Asparagus rolled in de-crusted sliced bread, secured with a tooth pick and toasted until crunchy, then into over drenched in Cream of Chicken and corn soup...rissoles with fried onions...

Fliegs makes a good point. Perhaps some of the exotica could be accompanied by recipes? My Mangalorean chicken curry recipe is, however, a secret. Unless you read the Telegraph, that is.
