Lunch out: a Chinese 'Vegetarian Delight', stir-fried veges (carrot, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower) on fried rice with cashew nuts. Ordered a small serving which was still quite large, et the cashew nuts and left about half the remainder. $12.50.

Also, at another establishment, a hot chocolate, drizzled over with a fancy pattern; left the marshmallows. $6.00

After 5 months on a low carbohydrate high protein regime - 47lbs lost to date for me - as a 'regular' customer the local chippie offered me 20% off for a two day Black Friday. We haven't had a fish and chip meal from Calum for 5 months but whose arguing! So we can't resist - Breaded Haddock and chips for Mrs C16, Battered Haddock and chips plus Battered Smoked Sausage for me to be collected at 1800 tonight. Deliciously evil and definitely a one off - Yum!

As Mrs Hydro doesn't eat red meat, I usually only have a steak if she's away. My mouth was watering at the thought of yours. Was it salvageable?

Lunch at Jamaica Blue at a mall in Christchurch: Eggs Benedict with spinach and bacon and sprinkled with pumpkin seeds, and a Caffè americano with cream, $26.95 + 30c extra for the cream.
Left half an egg and one piece of the toast and most of the pumpkin seeds.
Not as good as Saturday's.

tarragon chicken, ham, broccoli, fresh salad;
a mini-pavlova with kiwifruit and whipped cream; fresh fruit salad (apple, melon, grapes, don't know what else) and more whipped cream;
half a slice of Christmas cake; coffee.

Away to distant towns today: lunched on pumpkin soup, left the toast, added some of the butter to the soup; a GF raspberry friand; a Caffè americano with cream; $23.30.

Bbq tonight, provisions by D2, cooking by SIL2, guaranteed to be good.
Last night we had pizza from the best pizza place in town'. I'd extend the area - I can't remember having better anywhere. Cold pizza for lunch today.
D1 & Granddaughter are doing Christmas lunch. From the shopping list they are preparing it will be a banquet.
