Yesterday's lunch was home-made Scotch Eggs with a light salad - they are/were the best I have made to date.
Tonight it will be Shepherds Pie remains with Flat Beans.

I have never made Scotch eggs.....I do not own a deep fryer....I suppose I could find an old pan in an Ops shop and try on the wok burner part of the BBQ...?

Do them in the oven, probably better for you.

Those look very good =p~

You've just prompted me to Giggle vegetarian scotch egg recipes, one of which I hope to try out next week. :)

Will be a 'Pacific Curry' tonight which is a family term for a type of curry typically found in the islands, ways made with sliced leftover pork sausages, lots of sauteed onion and veggies to hand. In short using up last nights BBQ sausages, 'Pacific Curry' style.

Bass for tea tonight, with a lemon & caper sauce, asparagus and home-grown spuds. Tomorrow depends on the butcher. If he has pork belly on sale, it'll be roasted with pears and figs, or it'll be chicken thighs with plums and tarragon butter. Thank you, Daily Telegraph.

I do like Magnus's choices for evening meals and often steal his ideas for here at home. SWMBO doesn't always agree with me as she's not keen on pulses and that sort of general area. "I know what I like and, no, I don't want to try something new just for the sake of it being new and different" Rhodes on Monday night be a bit challenging. My motto generally has always been - if I've never heard of it before I'll give it a go I believe in serendipity.

Why do I continue to dislike beetroot (and tripe and calamari)?

I read that HM sacked a nanny that turned Charles into a picky eater - he has extreme demands for the runniness of boiled eggs (which he apparently eats three times a day).
