Gurnard...a very underestimated fish. Most British caught Gurnard gets sold abroad to people who will pay for quality.

SWMBO announced this afternoon, without any prompting, that she was going to buy crumbed flathead + chips + salad tomorrow. Talk about great minds...

Hoisin chicken tonight. Pot-roast brisket tomorrow. It's a lazy weekend in the kitchen for Magnus. Last night, we had Thai-style fishcakes from the local fishmonger. I bought 4, but when I put the first 2 in the pan I realised I had over-purchased. We now have 2 delicious fishcakes in the freezer for later consumption.

Gambas, Sweet Corn and Avocado, plus a salad. Made by Madame in between applying paint to canvas. Deadline for paintings more important than deadline for lunch.

Colliflower cheese and new potatoes about to be served. Importation of potatoes here from S.A. is banned. So you buy a bag of new potatoes with a lump of garlic butter in it so it is not new potatoes but garlic potatoes. Does require the potatoes to be washed before boiling though.
