We ended up having a lovely bbq supper by the pond. First one this year on the warmest evening of the year so far. As usual, I cooked vastly too much food for only four people to eat, so the dogs had a massive feast and will have lotsa lovely eats tomorrow too.

Yes, I recognise that most Brit Chinky restaurants are not a patch on the Singapore food courts, but Edinburgh's China Red really is bloody good. I highly recommend it, when it eventually re-opens. It's in Grindlay Street, opposite the Lyceum, just behind the Usher Hall. I greatly hope that the place doesn't go bust with such a long closure.
Chinky?

Wow

Whereas the Chinese restaurants in Odense Denmark were glorified pølse bars, with food adjusted for Danish tastes.
Oh no!, subbing in soy sauce for remoulade on a hot dog !?!?! :-o

Bought some nice diced lamb shoulder at the Sons of Morris yesterday. I was planning to make a lamb stew, but I'm now tempted to make a Sri Lankan lamb curry. I will consult SWMBO.

Rack of heritage breed Cheviot lamb over beech, birch and olive wood tomorrow

Pommes boulangeres already prepped to go over the fire along with the essential accompaniment to good lamb - flageolet beans

Another barbie planned for this evening.

A suitable number of bottles of Chablis and one of fizzy white going into the fridge before I set off for work.

bbq

Suya for starters. The guests have never experienced Africa and have never heard of suya. I'm making 20 sticks each of beef, lamb and pork and have the materials ready to make a coupla dozen more of each type if they prove a success with the natives hereabouts.

I've just placed mixed bean and veggie casserole into the solar oven. To be served with new potatoes which are cooked and will be shallow fried in olive oil. :YMPARTY:
