Well, we're having a roast chook tonight but I've got the wherewithal to make an attempt later to construct "Tagliatelli with gorgonzola ,cream and walnuts sauce" later in the week. Home made pasta - natch.

Manageress (NR) of the local safari camp asked Mrs Ex-Ascot what she was cooking for lunch today and was told salmon fish cakes. What about tomorrow she said. Bean casserole said 'er. Oh, I love your bean casserole she said can you bring me some (we have before), no she said, I can collect it, no why don't I just come for lunch. So that is sorted. Then she said I don't believe I have just invited myself for lunch. We don't mind, she is great fun and very switched on, as long as she doesn't drop the baby under the table. She is about 20 months pregnant.

I made a big pot of savoury mince & some creamy mash yesterday. A cottage pie was in the plan, but for various reasons dottir#2 couldn't get their tea organised, so the whole lot was sacrificed to her & her boyfriend. Apparently, it was very tasty. :(

Chickpea and sundried tomato casserole cooking in the solar oven at the moment; to be served with mashed sweet potato. Have cooked enough for us to have the same again tomorrow and take a portion to our friends at the safari camp up river. It will save our very pregnant friend from having to invite herself to lunch again. :D

Smoked salmon linguine tonight, with cherry tomatoes, shallots, garlic, vodka, chilli and black pepper. Bit of salad on the side. I can't be bothered making focaccia so it's some of yesterday's seeded spelt loaf to soak up the sauce. SWMBO going out, so a gentle snooze in front of the electronic one-eyed monster is planned for the evening.

Cauliflower /broccoli /carrot au gratin ie in cheese sauce with more grated cheese on top and baked in the non ecologically friendly gas cooker. :D

Tomorrow will be ecologically friendly as I plan to make veggie curry and bung that in the solar oven. o:-)
