A Sproglette favourite tonight; spaghetti carbonara with a good salad. I use mature cheddar and Grana Parana for the cheese element. Real parmigiana too costly and no-one can tell the difference.

Tonight's dins is a modified Nigella recipe. A bed of veggies on which I'm putting a chook stuffed with lemons, rosemary and smoked garlic. I see some rhubarb in the fridge and MrsP is in charge of that.

Was home made burgers tonight, in order to use up a bottle of hamburger sauce found in the fridge during clean up, and to use up the rest of a lettuce a stray tomato, and its made of mince, so economical....

Bangers and mash with onion gravy has just been had; surprisingly tasty sausages from Sainsbury's. On a side trip to M&S, MrsP got a couple of nice thick veal shin steaks, bone-in, so I think I'm expected to make osso buco tomorrow. I'm taking the batteries out of the bathroom scales.

Osso buco requested as suspected. Meanwhile I have a lamb and spinach curry in the oven which will be allowed to mature overnight for tomorrow's tea.

'Lions Head' soup with wombok cabbaged vermicelli noodles....an odd thing for a Sunday night I know...soup base from a pork & vegetable stock made last year...

Lamb leg steaks with roasted veggies tonight. Unlikely to be leftovers, so I'll be cooking again tomorrow. I'll excavate some beef mince from the freezer; cottage pie for us, but freeze some small portions for magnusgranddottir who loves mince'n'tatties.
Odd little things these days, children. She loves strutting about with a "babyccino", i.e. warm frothy milk. We may end up with a caffeine addict in a few years.

Home made salmon fishcakes for lunch today and tomorrow.
I've used the last tin of salmon and they are not stocking it anymore in Spar due to the lurgey.
Guess I'll have to make do with tuna in the future.

Hmm....Mrs Fliegs is not a fan of fish of any kind, regrettably...oh no Lobster, she'll eat Lobster....

When the recent Masters golf was current, I saw an article about the 'Champions Dinner', where apparently each year, the current title holder hosts a dinner, where he selects the menu, and picks up the tab.
Some choices are plebeian and some ultra conservative, but one dish did attract me.
Lobster ravioli.
This appeals, unfortunately SM disagreed with me so I'll probably never find out what it tastes like.
NB. TGG will be pleased to know that in the recent past, SA champions have served up bobotie and boerewors.
Nick Faldo apparently had cod flown in from Grimsby, and served up Fish & Chips.

A friend entered a cookery competition with his dish of a large lobster raviolo on a bed of veg of some sort with a light tomato sauce and one large langoustine on top. Didn't win, but looked very tempting. Last time I saw him, he was running a small catering business.

Got round to trying tagliatelle with cream, lemon (zest & juice), butter and walnuts. Damn tasty.
