How do you "vaguely commit suicide"
From court notes :

Judge : "Could you please tell us how many times your client has committed suicide up to now?"

.......and Hambledon Hill,
Currently looking at a print of Hambledon Hill that could have been a photograph taken out of my house = almost identical view - signed by the artist, Bill Toop, 1977 and numbered 203 of 300.

Memories.

We have always deposited the ashes of our dogs and cats at the far end of the orchard among the trees. My wife was previously considering some sort of burial plot but she is having second thoughts about this. We are presently both considering "going to the dogs" after cremation.

I buried 'my wife's dog' (he came as a 'bonus') under a bush in her parents' garden where he used to spend ages snuffling among the undergrowth.

I assume he was dead by then...

Just.

So he was a cat?

Indeed he identified himself as a cat and tried to make friends with them.

Mrs S’s mother has not been getting on too well of late. She lives on her own about 15 km away. She’s 89 and had a stroke about 5 years ago. Mrs S goes there every day to do odd jobs and make sure that she’s alright.

We were on our way to an ANZAC day breakfast this morning and called in to light the fire and check on her. When we got in the telly was on, the heater on and she’s was in her favourite armchair with her leg propped up on her walker. We thought she’d got up early and was snoozing in her chair.

If you’d have to script a passing that would be it. Comfortable and before the hard and imminently looming decisions about full-time care had to be made.

RIP Christina.

Thanks Alison. The scary part is the Grim Reaper beckoning and saying “next!”, and when you look behind there’s no other bugger there!

Condolences, Siseman, but can't think of a better way to go.
Father's cousin was booked to go on a coach tour. When the pick-up arrived, the front door was open, but there was no answer. The driver went in, and found her sitting in her favourite chair with a half-finished glass of red. Hope I can go like that.

Condolences Siseman, never good to find someone who’s passed away, but she probably didn’t want to go any other way.

Sorry to hear that mate. At 89 I hope she had a good inning.

Wanted to go to the dawn service at Kranji this year but couldn't make it. Me and another Aussie destructor here had a few after work to honour those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. A Pom who we don't know joined us in the last round. He shouted.

They rightly were, and always will be, the Greatest Generation.

ANZAC Day is the only day of the whole year I'm proud to be an Australian.

Lest we Forget.

Thanks Jim. Mrs S is doing remarkably well, as for me .... it’s all part of life’s rich cycle, and I’ve dealt with worse!

Interesting. I knew we have some secret bond with Alison - a box biodegradable and ashes 'returned to the earth' is what I've been thinking, too (especially after we buried my Father last August). As me Mom and Dad are there anyway, and the daught' has shown an inclination to visit them, she should probably have a place to go, otherwise the 'kids abroad' or far away, and ashes to ocean sound real good, too.
And, ultimately, what Slash said - if you're dead you're dead. :)
