Chuck all that out and use a 427cu hemi head V8, naturally aspirated. Sounds great.
So does the 351 Cleveland in a Phase 3 GTHO Falcon.

What are the 'concerns' that Mercedes have over their engine causing their decision to select a fresh engine?

Didn't they say they were happy to take the hit yesterday to give them a new donk for future races? Changing ICE only limited the penalty to 10.

Toto mentioned 'noises'.

Seems that Mercedes (Hamilton) are being investigated for a rule breach. No mention of Bottas.
Rear wing, DRS opening more than the permitted 85mm. Investigation suspended overnight.
Shouldn't have it in the first place IMHO.

Hamilton excluded from Qualifying, this means he starts the sprint race from the back.
This determines his starting position for tomorrows GP.
With a 5 place penalty for a new ICE.

Bye Bye World championship ?

After years of enjoyment watching F1 I now can't be bothered. Too many stupid regulations, and they are inconsistantly applied. Can't watch it live since RTL dropped it - too expensive for them and fan base in Germany very small. Same applies to Spain.

All credit to Hamilton for winning today despite all the penalties.

Absolutely - I look forward to watching the excerpts. I think having a new engine with only 3 races to go meant he could, of course, 'thrash it' which would have helped, but you still have to actually overtake occasionally.

With a lead of 14, can some guru work out Verstappen's lowest finish from here in the last 3 races to still win? What with 'fastest lap' points etc it should get very interesting in team tactics. :))

To be fair, Max deserves to be a Champion.
Without Lewis he would have achieved it a while ago.

Wodrick says elsewhere he watches F1 live. I usually watch on Ch4 or Ch4 catchup (cheapskate). With the Americas races being late in the day and Ch4 even later I brought my recorder into play. Automatically records all the programmes, but better yet, I can fast forward x 30 though the adverts.

To wit the shenanigans after the race, where Hamilton was given a €5000 fine for apparently undoing his safety harness during his victory lap, as well as an additional €20,000 fine suspended until the end of 2022.

I wonder how these fines are used afterwards - divvied up amongst the stewards? F1 itself make more than enough money as it is.

Christian Horner's a nasty piece of work. Hauled before stewards and reprimanded for insulting a marshal, had to apologise. His verbal abuse of Toto Wolf is worrying. Not a sportsman.

I have seen that leadership type in the Air Force. A hard as nails, brooks no criticism, good leader, drives his men hard and gets results and loyalty in return.

Apparently Guy Gibson was one such, "arch bastard" as was Bader. I think Johnny Johnson too. I have had similar bosses to though fortunately not back to back.

Some become quite pleasant when the pressure of command is removed. Is Horner one such personality?

Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner,
Eating a Christmas pie;
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said ‘What a good boy am I.

Horner ditched his pregnant wife to marry a Spice Girl. What a prat. Good candidate for UK prime minister.
