A very gracious tribute from the Schumacher family...

Hamilton stunned as Schumacher's son presents him with father's helmet

Daniel Ricciardo says his Renault team boss Cyril Abiteboul will get a German-themed tattoo, after winning his Formula 1 podium bet at the Eifel Grand Prix.

The Australian had a wager with Abiteboul earlier this year that if he succeeded in finishing on the podium for Renault this season then they will get matching tattoos.

As part of the deal, Abiteboul is able to choose the size of the tattoo and where it goes, while Ricciardo gets sole say in the design.

After finishing in third place at the Nurburgring on Sunday, Ricciardo said he would now do something linked to where they achieved the first podium together.

“It's real. It's going to happen,” said Ricciardo. “We'll have to do some thinking now, but probably it will be something to do with me, but I think with a German flavour.

“This is obviously the place we did it. A little tip of the hat to something traditional in Germany as well.”

His run after the safety car showed he was much more than a daring driver in an excellent car.

Drivers Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will both leave Haas at the end of the 2020 season.
Grosjean said team owner Gene Haas told him the move was for financial reasons.
Russian Formula 2 driver Nikita Mazepin has been strongly linked to the team.
Mazepin's father Dimitry is a billionaire who owns a major chemicals company. He has backed his son's career and has been looking for a way into F1 for some time.
Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time champion Michael, has also been linked to a drive at Haas.
He is part of the Ferrari driver academy and Haas have close links with the Italian team, buying as many parts from them as the rules allow.
Schumacher has also been linked with Alfa Romeo, another Ferrari satellite, and his destination may depend on whether Ferrari decide Antonio Giovinazzi, another of their proteges, has done enough to secure his seat at Alfa for a third season.

It was simpler back in the old days (as my son asks me "how was it back in the old days")... (and he, my son, was talking, about chess)... ;)))

You had a chap called Roy Salvadori ... and than another chap called Jim Clark..

Both superb drivers...

Everything stopped after gully cover broke. Every cover has to be checked.

They never seem to have problems with drain covers at Monaco! Better quality covers?

I believe these covers are not metal but 'concrete'.

Vitaly Petrov's father Aleksandr was assassinated yesterday.
From RT:-
Reports claim a gunman with a sniper rifle was responsible the murder.
Petrov had been regarded as Vyborg’s most prominent businessman.
He reportedly had a stake in almost all of the city's major industries and owned some local shipbuilding and fuel companies. He was also a member of the local council.
Journalists from the area have repeatedly insinuated that there were links between Petrov and the shadowy criminal underworld, even dubbing him “the master of Vyborg,”.
The murder reignited claims of Petrov’s involvement in mafia circles in the 1990s.

I believe that there are two engine suppliers for IndyCar - Chevrolet and Honda.
Information suggests that it is American Honda rather than Japanese Honda, so perhaps they will continue when Honda withdraw from F1?

Owners arriving at their villas in Spain usually unpack, pour drinks, and relax by the pool. Russians arrive late, take spades and dig at midnight in obscure parts of their terrain. Uncover or burying. Seen it with my own eyes.
