Last moment cancellation: Have I got News for You

#1 Post by OFSO » Fri May 10, 2019 8:35 pm

"We regret we cannot show tonight's episode of 'Have I Got News for You'". (BBC tonight.) Last minute change to schedule. So why ? Did someone crack a joke so terrible the entire show was scrapped ? Did a fight break out ? Did the BBC lawyer panic ? Someone must know...

Was it going to have Danny Baker on it?

Or more likely, Ian Hislop got hit with (another) libel writ.

Seemingly they booked the leader that nobody has ever heard of, of a party that nobody knows the name of, with a manifesto that has never been publicised, and half an hour before the show was due to be transmitted thought it would prejudice the result of the EU elections unless they had equality of representation, and leaders Come What May, Noddy the Corbyn, Cable Stitch, whoever is in charge this week of Are You Kipping ? and the Greens, couldn't come. And the BBC was terrified that Nigel Farage would say yes....so they never asked him. Never mind, Hislop will still get his £20,000.

Gawd help us all. What a useless bunch of wankers.

The longer version is still on the TV guide for tonight at 2300 on BBC1.

...and they lied, it was on the Sky TV guide until 2301, and then the Graham Norton Show started.

Why do I feel that not having a clue about this thread, makes me fell lucky?

I have sometimes watched the first few minutes of HIGNFY and then fallen asleep or gone to take the rubbish out, both of which pursuits I found more enjoyable and beneficial.
