D-DAY SMALL SHIPS MAY BE BEACHED & BROKEN UP.

#1 Post by barkingmad » Thu Jul 18, 2019 2:56 pm

Remember our illustrious CAA grounding the last flying DC3/Dakotas as they had no emergency doors nor escape slides nor exit lighting etc etc?

Now the same madness evident in the Maritime & Coastguard empire who want to stop the Dunkirk small ships fleet from sailing 'cos they don't conform to modern seagoing rules & regs.

For most if not all the cost of modifications to satisfy the desk sailors will be prohibitive and result in them disappearing from our maritime scene.

I nearly choked on my muesli this morning when this item ruined my breakfast and my day. And it's not even a "gold-plated" EU directive which has been emitted from the collective anii of UK civil servants who take relatively innocuous EU directives and other Brussels' sprouts and make them more restrictive and complex and expensive to implement.

I really must get on with the final design and production of a lightweight aluminium trailer portable guillotine with its EU compliant carefully angled blade, adjustable neck rest and EU compliant blood collection drainage system.

But could I be prosecuted for possession of a bladed article in public? :((

If you stick around much longer, you find they'll be breaking you up. Your attitudes clearly don't meet current Government guidelines - established purely for your own safety, of course.

You're right, of course, about the Little Ships. One is reminded of a quote by Claire Wolfe:
“America is at that awkward stage; it's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”

"It's more than my job's worth."

Nanny state advances still further. It's for our own safety you know!

Most youngsters seem to be able to judge risks for themselves as when we were in our teens and twenties, having spent most of our younger lives playing outdoors. Now the nanny state will tell you what you can and cannot do because you can't possibly judge risk for yourself any more.

Here is a fact the UK government doesn't want you to know.
After all the massive restrictions on school trips and adventurous training activities, and the large reduction in the number of them, the fatal accident rate per kid per day has (slightly) increased.
