I recommend the CSEM EMSC Earthquake app for your phone. The Pyrenees get a lot of non-tremors but loud booms and in this volatile community I like to know the source.

I have a couple of earthquake accounts I follow on Twitter. The California Quakes one is a significant part of my feed at the moment with all the little rumbles after the two large bumps down in SoCal. I have a feeling that the Bay Area is going to have a significant jolt before the end of the year.

We are having fun and games in WA at the mo; a biggy just off Broome, another just south of Bali and one in Shark Bay. Hardly unexpected with Australia pushing north at 7cm a year! I’m fully expecting a big one centred on, or close to, Cadoux, not many kms from us as the big lump of granite on which we reside bumps along the mantle.

I am not a seismologist but I have heard the advantage of many small ones versus a big one. Small one may protect from a big one.

I should think ET falling off her bike would be at least 4.1 on the Richter Scale.

The spot where ET came off the bike. The road is expected to make a full recovery in due course.
