Squawking on terrace. One magpie on his back, shrieking his head off, another standing on him tearing away with beak at his chest. Not nice. Shooed them away. Vociferous complaints continued from rooftops for hours.

While I'm having my morning coffee I'm visited by crested pigeons, crimson rosellas and galahs every day. The kookaburras wait on the clothesline, usually only one, but there are several that seem to take it in turns. The magpies come into the workshop, sometimes there's a king parrot who visits, as well as butcherbirds and noisy miners. The rainbow lorikeets and little wattle birds feed in the grevilleas and bottlebrush. All this in a suburban yard.

Because it was so hot one of the kids stayed in the workshop all afternoon.
