If you mean 'managers' you refer to IB who are salaried and may be bonus driven too. If you mean the 'moderators' they never were in my day - don't know about now. As you know, WW and DF were handsomely rewarded when PPR was sold to IB. I am not aware of any other disbursements.

It strikes me that that site is home to an awful lot of pompous prima donnas who have got their heads so far up their own backsides they can see the back of their own teeth.
And that's just the members.

I shuffled across no-man's land into TOP last year and looked into one of the many MAX threads. I was not amused to see an advert for Funeral Plans immediately after the first post on that particular thread showing a 737 looking like it was in a terminal dive-probably carefully edited. I placed this entry as post # 8;

"INAPPROPRIATE ADVERTISING
How tasteless to have an advert for Pre-Paid Funeral Plans immediately after the initial posting on this thread!!

C’mon mods, sharpen up!! You’re very good at Pruning posters with whom you disagree but that was a serious case of dropping the ball!"

There followed this comment from another member-"Ads are personalized based on your profile and previous internet searches. Take care!"

Imagine my surprise when the thread was locked shortly after and even when live the Funeral Plans advert was rapidly moved elsewhere!

The locked thread remains in view and I have not yet been locked out..... A win for the small people?

The Fates will probably visit me in the dark hours out here in space. :-q

I would score the other member quite highly for that response, definitely a sense of humour on display.

Is there any connection between the very welcome disappearances of Rob the Knob aka. WW from Pprune, and Kak 'n Crap from our site?

I think we should be told.

Another reason to stay away from there. Does TOP have Ignore capability?

Yesterday I mentioned in the shocking state of Pprune thread in TOP that I had been locked out of R&N for years, I'd had no indication of why, and the mod T28b let me back in.
I just posted a similar comment, wonder if anything will come of that? I think it's the first time I've posted over there for months.
Someone appears to be happy unticking the ban boxes, I had a look to see if my comment had had an effect and I do now appear to have access to R&N.

Slightly off thread but here they do not think in English. They built an airport hotel right next door to the funeral directors and called it 'Terminal Lodge' . I couldn't get a photo of the two signs together. It is now 'Airport Hotel.

They opened up a new private medical centre and called it 'Doctor's Inn' and they couldn't understand why I kept calling them 'Doctor Sin'. They haven't changed it.

Ex-A - apologies for busting in to the thread like this, but I did ask a while back if you would consider posting the lat & long of Camp Ascot so I could trace the lagoon history on Goggle earth.

I think you'd be safe from Chump or Iranian missiles if you do.... :))

We are the scion of TOP, men and women that that flew anything from cubs, Mirages, Buccaneers, to 707's into hidden runways designated Alpha One and have gone from this to glory and then to the glory that is here.

Sorry Boac, Capt Slasher has just alerted me by e-mail of your request. No probs but be aware that we have the most up to date missile defence system. It is amazing what you can train hippos to do.

S20°10.349' E23°41.415' is the westerly corner by the lagoon/pond. On google earth you can't see the house as it is covered in trees. You can see the fruit and veg plot out the back and the jetty and house boat.

This basically gives you an idea of how the system works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okavango_Delta It is all cyclical. We are going through a low water cycle. Local rains keep the local rivers topped up but we need the flood from Angola to put it back up to the normal level.
