In "Dad's Army", what was Captain Mainwaring's christian name?

Non-clue - my Dad looked just like him...

I keep thinking Arthur, but that was the actor's name, and also the name of his sergeant.

Claude Greengrass's dog was called Arthur, there has been another dog since.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Cryptically signed by the jewel itself?

Or is my observation flawed?

Presume that it was a pink diamond.

They dug another small one up here the other day.

Wasn't it that when viewed from a certain angle the image of a Panther could be supposedly seen in the Diamond?
And the diamond being pink....well a Pink Panther innit?

Dammit,,,,now the Henry Mancini theme music is running through my head!!

You are correct, Pinky :YMAPPLAUSE:
...pink diamond that has an enormous size and value. The diamond is called the "Pink Panther" because the flaw at its centre, when viewed closely, is said to resemble a leaping pink panther. ...

Thanks awfully. :D

Ok.....the only thing I can think of just now; In the 1960's there was a Japanese TV series that was very popular in Australia, especially amongst Children.

What was it called, who was the Star and what was his name in the series?
