What is the star that is visible to the south-west about 19:00 to 20:00 (I am at 55degN and 2degW)?

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Must be Saturn then. I fancied I saw the rings top left/bottom right but my binos weren't good enough to rule out Jupiter. They were good enough to see the southern craters on the moon.

Not Saturn.

I thought it was a bit late. But at least it wasn't a star.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Yes - to have correctly identified it as a planet when to the casual observer it appears to be a star would have narrowed the choices - apologies if that lead to confusion.
I was scrabbling for a question to pose when I saw it - I only expected it to last a couple of minutes (the question, not the object).

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
O'dark hundred one morning in the North of Scotland there were reports of a UFO. As it happens a couple of us were driving East at the time. No doubts whatever as so we could see 3 or 4 of its moons. Spectacular with the moons creating a star shape.
