What a repulsive looking creature, but I am amazed to learn that it will confront a lion, although I would imagine its appearance would frighten most assailants away. It reminds me of someone I used to work with. But I digress and am being cruel. To the bullfrog!

Can we re-attempt my original which auto-hijacked.

Since we're playing with codes, here's the next challenge.
Using standard ISO (3166) two letter country codes, e.g
CH=Switzerland
DE=Germany
PL=Poland .....

and IATA two letter airlines codes, e.g
AF = Air France
QF = Qantas

Example :
DE = Germany
DE = Condor Airlines, a major German airline

How many ISO (country codes match the two letter code of the national (or major) airline of that country?

I'm looking for specific answers, not just a number. At least one of our members lives in a country whose 2 letter code matches the national carrier's 2 letter code.

I knew John would get that, thank you for kick starting the thread.

There are quite a few others.

Correct John, that's one I hadn't thought of : FJ for both country and airline. Closer to your part of the world than mine.

None of the old DOCs in the attic readily gave up this information and I am tired of online searches leaving only the options of manual search or write a bit of code neither of which take my fancy. I guess I am out!

Mutiny on the Bounty, Captain Bligh and a few men cast adrift in a small boat, how far did they sail and where to?

That island where everyone is called Fletcher and they all play games the whole family can play.

Is it Pitcairn Island? Or am I confused with another event? Anyway that's me answer.

Always had a sneaking admiration for Capt Bligh for that feat of navigation in an open boat. Somewhere I have one of his books.

He ended up at a Dutch port in Timor but can't recall the name. The length of his voyage is logged in my excuse for a brain as 4000 miles. No idea if nautical or knot.

Pitcairn was where Christian and his band of mutineers ended up after scuttling the Bounty.

Bligh ended up in Batavia (Djakarta) IIRC. His journal is in the Mitchell library here. Not sure where he was cast adrift though.

Bligh, as I recall, was involved in 3 mutinies: the famous Bounty mutiny, either the Spit or More mutiny and the Rum Mutiny in Oz. His ACR must have made interesting reading!

Your question:

Of whom did Napoleon Bonaparte allegedly say, "That man made me miss my destiny."

Afraid not.

This redoubtable Naval officer was knighted by the King of Sweden although his investiture was performed by King George.

In 1801-1802 he had an affair with Caroline Princess of Wales who split with him over his infidelities with another lady.

During the Napoleonic Wars, he was imprisoned in The Temple, Paris for about 2 years before escaping. He was not subject to the usual prisoner exchange scheme because of his alleged piratical activity.
