Did the Romans occupy the Channel Islands ? Obviously the Germans did.
I holidayed several years there (Guernsey) and do not recall Roman ruins 55 years ago mind and Parents not into Roman Ruins and such.

Elizabeth Castle, St. Helier, Jersey. Visited there 3 years ago, shortly before catching up with OFSO & Woody in London. Pretty sure the Romans were there, ahead of a long line of others.

Hello, Tyneside lady detective
Brenda Blethyn is a well-known visitor to locations in and around my Tynedale village as her alter ego.
I think I've said before, some of my happiest days were spent around Corbridge, Hexham, Riding Mill and Slaley
+1
(Can't answer the question, though!)

Looked it up.
My father read many of his paperbacks.
Never read him but just downloaded this book.
Based on the preview I can relate to the area it takes place in and the culture.
