Reverend I have heard of this but can't remember for sure. Clutch?
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

Not even warm so far, tho there are arguments in favour of both.

Mrs Ex-Ascot is going for cloister.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I know, but that's because I was curious enough to look it up so I recuse myself from this one.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
OK, it's "Prudence of Vicars" Why I don't know, nor is Google your friend in this case AFAIK. Inappropriate, too: I knew quite a number of 'em who are anything but prudent.
OH, then.
p.s. When they pass in processions, they are measured in Revs per Minute.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Names of the first British, American and Russian women in space.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
I believe the first woman in space was Valentina Tereshkova, a Russian. The other two I dont know and anyway they were not first.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
The question springs to mind because I was at a trivia night and this question came up. given the geeky nature of the clientele in the place, I was gobsmacked to discover I was the only one who got that question right. It was also notable that it was the first and only time that our work trivia team ever won a round at this place, normally we were middle-of-the-road, but we nailed that round.
Also interesting that all the Americans in the room could name the first American woman in space but not the other two.

Re: Trivia Question of the Day
Helen Sharman for the Brit lady??
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
As I've asked for three bits of information I don't know whether I should say "yay" or "nay" to what's come through so far. I'll call time in a few more hours if no one manages to name all three.
Re: Trivia Question of the Day
OK, we did get two out of three. Valentina Tereshkova and Helen Sharman, the missing one was Sally Ride.
OH declared.
